"It was a bit slow when i got it so i took a old Mitsubishi turbo and put on it. It gets about 9psi, but thats enough to whoop a honda!"

hahahahahahahaha, I looked at the engine pic and nowhere did I see any evidence of a turbo of any kind, maybe I overlooked it but still, hahahahaha

Don't know if this helps but according to wik, the 2.5L was known as the Iron Duke. You're right, finding parts for it may be hard searching for the engine itself, but it has a car list that this engine was placed in. May be able to find a forum or something. And if the Pontiacs you were talking about, Bad99Olds, were the Sunbird, Fiero, and Astre, then you're on the right track.

Ahh, I see from that article that the SD4 is based on the same engine, but slightly different. Although not ALL of them had timing gears. A friend of mine has a grand am with a chain!

Nice. It is amazing how many of these are still on the road around here, considering the car is at least 13 years old (i believe the last year of that body style was 95, my father in law had a newer body style Century that I think was a 96.)

The Century could be had with a 2.5 up to '93, the 2.2 replaced it for 94-96. The new body style came out in '97 and all century models after that had the 3100 M or J depending on year. The V6 was optional in earlier models.

Yeah, the earlier V6 was the 3.3L and you really don't hear alot about those.

Hell, 9psi on my Buick would blow it to pieces :)

Cliff8928 01-04-2008 01:24 AM

Actually for the V6s they could be had with a 2.8, 3.0, 3.1, 3.3, 3.8 or 4.3 depending on the year.
