Turbo pics!

Here it is. Just needs the turbo downpipe made and it'll be complete. If I don't respond or be on in a few days its cuz I have my lower back surgery tomorrow morning.

Setup is:

Garrett T3 60-1 turbo. AR trim .063, Compressor housing .070
Tial 38mm wastegate w/ 6psi spring.
Turbo XS RFL blowoff valve.
Manifold is custom made by ourselves (me and a friend)
42lbs injectors
--Debating on doing a MAF delete and just using map sensor--*

jackal2000 06-25-2008 07:58 PM

for MAF delete i think you need a 3 bar map sensor and im pretty sure no tuning software supports that yet, but im no expert.

[ion] C2 06-25-2008 08:23 PM

awesome.

Redog 06-25-2008 08:44 PM

Redog 06-25-2008 08:51 PM

Richie a bit OT but what color gold is your mani and vavle cover?Looks like the gold they used in the 60's on Olds motors. It that the look you're going for?Either way, goes great with the blue :D

-Alero- 06-25-2008 09:43 PM

he is actually going for a "JDM" look cause he is gettign gold wheels

adam337 06-25-2008 09:45 PM

whatever hes going for its hott.

cherrington17 06-25-2008 09:51 PM

damn richie.. what else is there to do!? now your modded grill to ass, inside and out...

your going to have to start having custom high end parts machined just to replace something thats already higher performance then most of us would want...

kniedelm9490 06-25-2008 10:01 PM

so i take it his battery is in the trunk now?

xXManwhoreXx 06-25-2008 10:04 PM

DOHC_tuner 06-25-2008 10:17 PM

wow so now its show and go!

-Alero- 06-25-2008 10:35 PM

lower back surgery because yo uhave been leaning in engine bays too long?

Redog 06-25-2008 10:48 PM

Why didn't you go with a header setup instead of the stock cast iron ones, or is that in the works as well?

Can't you just tune it without any specific support. The MAP still puts out a range of 0-5v, correct? so can't you just shift the tables and work with it like that, albeit a lower resolution.

kniedelm9490 06-26-2008 12:28 AM

lol aftermath u wanna do this all for me lol

BlackJack 06-26-2008 02:47 AM

Looks good bud.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend the MAF delete specifically for the reason Jon mentioned. A three-bar sensor would be required for the resolution you would need, and there is currently no software support for a 3-bar in a N-body PCM. And truthfully, you don't need a 3-bar unless you're planning on breaking 12psi at the least.

Lets see the finished product, and good luck with your surgery.

i'm guessing its a combination of that, and lifting things with his back (and turning) herniated disks?

aww .. yeah! Thanks.. I was looking for those locally, but no one has it. I will order it asap!

BlackJack 08-09-2008 11:31 PM

just make sure you give it all a minimum of 3 coats each, and probably want to repaint your thermal wrap so it will all match nicely.

That stuff works like a champ. I painted/wrapped/painted the headers, drove the car to work and was able to touch the headers right after shutting down the car. (dumb I know, but I had to see how well it all worked).
