All in all, good day at the track, and good pics. I can't tell from the video, how good was the traction? Were you holding back a little off the line?
Keep the number, make it a trademark ;) |
Good run.

Heres another video of the issue I was having with that getto tune: a 2.5 60ft cause it just dropped on his face, third gear broke up on tune but you cant tell on the video, and after the line the car turn off lol...lil scary moment there while I was stopping at the end, I swap to the gm reflash back and started back after cranking a bit. Video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G-Vu-v5AsY In all I was just having fun, hoping for next time to have meth on it, and run 15 drag or slicks to take the wheel hop out. Btw what size your using on the 15s aleroB888??? |

It has all the info there lol. Its 1hour1/2 for me. Theres a lot of MA boys there aswell. |

Well, you should probably try to get most of the major tuning/reflashing done before going to the track, so you can concentrate on the traction issues there. I can't remember what I did for wheel hop problems the last time that happened to me. Maybe mfuller has some advice on a suspension tweak to cure it. So you are not getting any wheelspin at all? I have used BF Goodrich DRs 225-50/R15, with pretty good results, as well as M&H 7.5x23.0 slicks with no tubes. Their performance depended on the amount of boost used and the track prep. Still got wheelspin under some conditions. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the DRs, because they are safer to use. I want to get the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial 225-50/R15. Very soft compound but sturdy tire. I tried them in the 235-60/ R15 size, but that was just too big a diameter, too heavy and ate up the gear ratio. SpyhunteR used an M&H 8.5x24.5 Drag slick on a 15 inch steel wheel, with no tubes. I would try that route, but I think the MTs will do as good, and you can run them at any event, or even on the street if you had to. |
I was thinking about 24.5 but you need serious power for those, not really my level right now. Im trying to get the 225/50 drag radial or prolly use a 23 like you did. I was more concern about what width rim your using for them. So your saying that Spyhunter is using 8.5 on our regular steelies? or is it from another car.
For the wheel hop Im already getting my top mount as a group buy that we got going on, we ecotec guys are not as lucky as the v6s. I know I can get solid ones for the manual tranny from a j-body. I know slicks flex and takes care alot of wheel hop. I was trying to make some traction bars but I havent had much free time lately. I prolly need bushing for my control arms cause they seem pretty dried and kinda shot. I can wheelspin no doubt, if I spin and when the tires trying to grip thats when I get most of my wheel hop. So most the time I come out kinda slow to avoid that. And what I was refering to that I couldnt even keep spinning my tire on the burnout box, it was acting as if I let the clutch out and right after stopped giving it gas, and that was with the 2.5 fake bar that I tried for the first time. With the cavy GM reflash doesnt do this, but its not really a tune for good power. I do agree that main priority should be get the car properly tune, and than worry about that traction and running it hard. Once I get my other set of injectors and meth kit thats already order Im gonna focus on that. |

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the stock type steels, and I'm using stock width Malibu and Cutlass 15's, appox 6 inch width. There's not that many to choose from out there. |
Car looks good!!!! I won't be there to see it until mid July sadly, taking a summer class at school.
You'll have to take me for a rip down the track, car must feel awesome! |

not bad runs.
|
I like how the SRT-4 has masking tape to protect his finish from the burnout.
Real cars have scars. :coolio: |
not too shabby, better throw some nitrous on it to up your game....
|
a cooler day would help and a non slipping clutch aswell. not gonna go too crazy on a simple settup not meant to be something its not. If had money and time motor would been built and turbo.
|
do you have methanol injection?
|
I do but I guess its gonna need to move it from where it is. 176 IAT. Im used to seeing it around 130 and 150 with a full WOT thru gears. Im sure the bottle can cool it up lol

Nice runs.......and you've got to have the patience to refine the setup and come up with new ideas. That's the fun part of it, but it's frustrating, too. I was running in the 15's for a long time. |
