GM Parts Direct

So I ordered the some clips and sashes for my windows from gmpartsdirect.com and they sent me the sashes and 'GRAND' badges for a Grand Am(wtf? - the part numbers weren't even close). I've been trying all week to get a response from them to get an RGA # to send back the incorrect parts. I've filed at least 2 requests and sent an email to customer service.

Has anyone ever had any issues with this company? There are no phone numbers or any other means to contact them other than e-mail.

Any suggestions?

I'd really like to get my window fixed before the 90+ degree weather sets in.

Call the 800 number, but I'm willing to bet that even though THEY messed up, they will charge a restocking fee :rolleyes2:

I usually pull the part number and go to the dealer and buy them. I refuse to pay $20 shipping for a $5 part

From their website:

GMPartsDirect.com is independently owned and operated by Flow GM Auto Center,
an authorized independent reseller of General Motors Parts. This site is not owned or operated by General Motors Corporation.

Gets terrible ratings:

That's why I don't buy from them that much.

I did buy a spare tire cover when the ex wife trashed mine. It was cheaper thru them with shipping.

The sell parts about 60% to 75% cheaper than the dealerships, but the shipping bumps the total cost either equal to or more than the dealer price.

The quoted dealer price on their site is correct. Make an order like you are going to buy then on the invoice page the part number shows up. Call a few GM dealers and give them the part number and there's your part ;)

I bought my S/C kit and crated 2.4l engine from them with no troubles. Kinda hard to mess up a big parts order... I'd try the 800 number anyhow.

Redog is perfectly right - they are a good source for useable GM part numbers although finding the right part can be tough. Standard slow shipping through a dealership is usually quite reasonable. Often you can get a discount, however small, just by asking nicely.
