National Ovation Tires
 

This past friday i got my tires replaced...they were almost slicks having no tread left on them....had a friend in the tire business hook me up with a new set of tires, National Ovations (P215/60/R15) and i paid a total of $303.84 including install (the shop that put them on charged me only for install which was about $8 a tire)

i must say after a weekend of driving (a little over 100 miles) ive noticed that they are very quiet in terms of road noise, and definetely offer a smooth ride. For them not being a "Mainstream Namebrand" they seem to be just as good of a tire.

i was driving in the rain last night and noticed i was able to stay up on my normal speed with no hydroplaning or any troubles, and it was tough to see 30 feet in front of the car.

overall A+++ and definetely recommend these tires if you can get them.

nope unfortunately not...but i must say the only thing i regret is not getting the tires filled with nitrogen...but theres time in the near future to get that done, not really that important

nitrogen?? wtf! thats new to me. whats the purpose??

nitrogen is less reactive to heat (no oxygen molecules), so in the heat and cold your tires stay relatively the same pressure, and the nitrogen molecules are larger so the tire will lose pressure at a much slower rate than normal air you put in the tires...so essentially your looking at properly inflated tires for a much longer period of time, and its relatively inexpensive to have your tires filled with nitrogen

hmmm ... guess i'll have to call for a "Nite" Cart and service my tires up with nitrogen lol

yeah, a tire shop calls in for a huge order of nitrogen and the FBI shows up to investigate

For everyday driving, nitrogen fill is WAY overrated. My dad had it done on a set of wheels when he got new tires. Never noticed any real difference. If your wheels are in good shape, they shouldn't loose any more air than nitrogen. In other words, its good for race cars where tires can see very high temps, but otherwise its a waste of money.

yeah and i like going to wesco and filling up my tires for free.. :D

i would hope that you didn't have any hydroplaning... any set of tires shouldn't hydroplane when they are brand new... if they did... they never would have been made. cuz the design would be horseshit

Get serious..

Nitrogen is a bit overkill.. unless your an F1 indy driver..

You will NEVER see or notice a difference between nitro and air..

the only reason they use Nitrogen. is that there is no water disolved in the air.. .

Water disolved in normal air us "sane" people use causes seriously small micro PSI fluctuations that you would have to be the most anal person in the world to care about.. less than 10ths of a psi

Not to mention most aleros have tire seal problems and air leaks.. so.. all in all a SERIOUS waste of time.. and money...

Put it this way...

Some Nascar drivers dont use nitrogen... some do.. All f1 drivers do...
Nascar drivers change air pressure in increments as little as 1/4 of a PSI.. F1 to 1/8th of a pound si.

Draw your own conclusions, be informed.. dont waste money,,,

Or, you could fill with the tires with Helium, and have a lighter tire.
