Finally... I got my ass yelled at, at ASS 2012 because I have a Malibu with projectors :)

Will you be offering these for sale or simply a one off custom project for your car? Are they still using the euro h7 bulbs or something completely different to pair with the projector? Please offer some more details !!!

This was a one-off retrofit for my car performed by LightWerkz. They use H1 HID bulbs for the Morimoto H1 projector. More pictures here: http://www.lightwerkz.net/news/2013/...or-conversion/
It's probably too expensive for the majority of people to consider.....I'll leave it at that.
Should have them installed in a few days.
Thanks for the positive compliments.

Man I can't wait to actually see these on your car. I'm still curious on how much something like this would cost. I hope they weren't over $1000. That would be ridiculous. If they're in the $500 range I would totally buy em after I graduate. Who knows, maybe we could get a group buy if we have enough interest, if they were reasonable priced and they were up for it.

I would have to agree knowing how particular with your car and how money is seemingly not an issue hahaha i have to admit i am very proud of my budget builds (currently at 3) in regards to these cars... i would love a set but financially i have enough parts to focus on installing before i buy more :)

happyisthealero 01-15-2013 08:45 PM

honestly how much and maybe a group buy would be great tax season is upon us

sleepyalero 01-15-2013 08:50 PM

It's not cheap... But so worth it.

Looks great Matt.

colonel6632 01-15-2013 10:36 PM

amazing!

tw0123 01-15-2013 10:42 PM

just checked the site out from your link... the kit they used is not priced unreasonably at all... but yes, still probably out of the budget range for most on this site currently... myself included... maybe some day I will be able to do this, and glad to have someone pioneer with such success on this... others have tried, but none have looked this good or have been able to retain the factory appearance as these do.
my next question, could you find out the potential differences associated with having the American housing units vs the Euro unit like you have used here?

Looks great. Congrats on 'doing it right'.

For all of those who want this, the retrofit isn't very hard. IF you google "hidplanet", you'll find a forum where you'll find very useful information on properly using projectors. You can slap them in any car, all you need is 2 or 3 days to properly do this. The hardest part is getting the plastic off the light and making the projector fit where the old halogen bulb socket is.

If you put your mind to it, you can do it. I know those who take off the reflector on the lights could easily do this.

Shit, we could group buy the morimoto H1 projectors and have real HID lights instead of projectors. They're not that expensive.
