So ya, these aren't indiglow gauges, but they look pretty badass. They are a full stock replacement and installation is fairly easy but WILL require removing the needles as the stock face has to be pulled off.

I know the owner of the website and will probably be doing some design work on them if this happens. If we decide on a main design it will be cheaper but designs can be anything really. They look pretty high quality and are made with stock like materials. Includes a middle gel layer to give the color so no light replacement is need unless you want different color needles than stock color. I particularly like this design: http://www.sh-autotrends.com/product_info....3dd8e3dba28e104
but like I said just about anything can be done.

And yes, these are a bit more expensive than the indiglow ones you see on ebay, that is because of all of the custom work and designs, low order quantities, and the fact that it's a FULL gauge face replacement.

Those look really cool. If i were to get in on it the only thing i dont like is when they're unlit you can see the like grayish flames on the white and i really dont liek that cause im not a fan of flames. However, the orange lit up has just a hint of flames to it which i actually think looks really cool. It would probably also look cool in the same colors with no flame to it at all if it came down to that. Hopefully this makes sense.

What do you think the price would come down to if we got a group buy?

sound_xtreme 11-02-2005 01:12 AM

I'd guess around $60 depending on how many were in on it. basically we have to buy a gauge cluster and cut it up to start the design on these, plus materials used, time spent, etc.

Rubered00 11-02-2005 01:27 AM

So are you saying it would require use sending in our current stuff to get it done to...or us sending our oringinal in after receiving the custom one?

sound_xtreme 11-02-2005 02:21 AM

no you dont have to send anything. i said we have to buy one so we can cut it up and make a template to make the new gauges. just explaining some of the costs involved in a project like this

slowandlow 11-02-2005 10:47 AM

how hard is this to do? aka install?

smlzalero 11-02-2005 11:43 AM

they do look good, but I'd have to see what our gauges look like done up like that before I'd be in with this.

FantomForceCustoms02 11-02-2005 11:58 AM

Now is it going to turn out red like in the example or will it be the stock teal/green/blue kinda color? It would be out of place with the rest of the buttons in the car since they are not red.

can make it any color, as i said color is determined by a middle gel layer, just like the stock gauges. so it's whatever we put in it.

installation is pretty easy, hardest part is getting the needles right, many have done it here. all gauges come with instructions.

If you dont think the design will look good on our gauges smlz come up with your own and we'll transfer it, or just tell us and we'll flat out design it.

Justy311 11-02-2005 01:49 PM

I just might be interested in this, Make up a couple of ideas and post pictures of ones that we all can get. Also, how are these going to look on an alero? if they look tacky and not bright, i dont want to fiddle with lights trying to make it look good!

thanks!

cherrington17 11-02-2005 02:32 PM

they look good, no doubt about it. i'm still personally debating as to how i want my gauges to look. i like the white and lit up part, but i can't decide on if i want that or just blue or red back lighting... or blue or red on those... argh.. too many decisions!

i'm not a fan of the flames.. maybe just a stripe or the numbers and lines highlighted [same as shown but without the flame part] hopefully i'll have some time to think before this gets actually processed....

johny_boy32 11-02-2005 02:36 PM

i'd be in also if the gauges lit up blue(my a-pillar gauges light up blue) just like the original halo gagues. And i'm not a fan of the flames either but I'd be in if someone can thing of a cool design. I'll take a picture of my gauges I have in there now, so you can see the color i'm talking about.

Rubered00 11-02-2005 02:51 PM

So it looks like the flames arent going to be popular so can you sound_extreme can you and your buddy design something in photoshop on alero gauges without flames to give us something to start with?

Justy311 11-02-2005 04:44 PM

I like the look of the white guages, I had the reverse halo ones, but had a hum in the stereo and it was a PITA, if there is one with the blue like that, count me in!

AleroBloke 11-02-2005 09:21 PM

count me in. no matter what price. or color

sound_xtreme 11-02-2005 09:49 PM

ok, i think we got 4 for sure people. Alerobloke, Sweetalero99, bdyman, and me. Most likely varying designs at least for sweetalero99 and I. it looks like bdyman and alerobloke both want the flames. I'm just thinking something simple for mine, like an olds symbol and alero on the speedo and tach.

AftermathAlero 11-02-2005 11:12 PM

ya forgot me.. like i told ya last nite on AIM.. I'm in.

FantomForceCustoms02 11-03-2005 12:23 AM

If we can get the olds symbol and Alero I'll be in.

alero_ecotec 11-03-2005 01:25 AM

i might be interested...would it be 1 peice? or 4 like the normal indiglo gauges? and i agree with fantomforce, if we can get the olds symbol and alero, i'd be down too

sound_xtreme 11-03-2005 01:51 AM

will either be one piece or 2 pieces when placed next to eachother will be one large piece. like there might have to be a seam because of how large our gauges are, obviously this seam would be under a part of the bezel that goes around the gauges. if that all makes sense.
