Well I was just wondering what a 04 mustang gt conv. with the 4.6 runs in the quarter stock? This is not a race thread I was just wondering thanks.

I'm moving this to the track forum....

They will run mid 14's stock.

Actually, the convertible will run high 15's or low 16's due to the fact that convertibles are actually always heavier than hard tops. This is because you lose structural rigidity when you lose the columns, roof, and c-pillars. The engineers then need to add alot more structural reinforcement underneath the car to keep it from flexing. The only time this is not true is when you take a hard top and simply cut the roof off with a chain saw (or other implement of destruction).

My bad, I was looking at the Mach 1 which has 305 HP as my baseline.

Coupe is 3347lbs
Vert is 3477 lbs

I think the GT coupe runs around a 15, so 15.5 sounds reasonable for the vert.

The Mach 1 also has 305 HP, I didnt think the GT's had as much horsepower?

mustang gt = 260hp

MTX GT Coupes run 14 flat. the Mach 1 coupe runs ~13.8. The verts are a helluva a lot lighter than what they used to be. They can hit 14.5's in MTX form with the ATX being about a 1/2 second slower.

Stang Gt's run a 14.3 stock on average if they have the 5 speed and are hard top. They are quick effers.
