Just a couple more then I'll stop! maybe... Thanks for all the nice comments! I know I have some work to do, but it's really nice to work on a clean piece of canvas. I don't think it's ever been driven through a mudhole!
|
vary clean engine to! im diggin the green battery. lol
|
LOL! yeah, I kinda dig that green battery too! It's a nice Interstate battery the previous owner put in. Not cause hers was bad, because she was selling the car and wanted to make sure everything was good. I think the GM garage talked her into that, along with new tires, new license tags, new floor mats, a carfax and oil change. Yeah!

Pretty sick. How many miles?

Almost 98,000.
Here is my work for the day. And yes I know the bottom of the air box is still there. I did that on purpose. Now please tell me the correct way to finish this install if you would? |
lol, sorry. Sounding kinda demanding there! Did not mean to be. I just don't know what to do next? Remove the airbox although the cold air comes in right there? The tube would still be there so that might not be so bad. And how to mount it, or hold it up? There must be a cool bracket?
By the way... the engine sounds incredible now! Went from not hearing much of anything to a really nice, deep, almost like a big 4 barrel sound. Biggest problem now is fixing that big dent in the firewall from mashing the pedal to the metal! And trying to keep gas in her... |
Sorry I know nothing about intake installs on an alero.. I put a CAI on my cobalt, that's all.

Lol I like those batteries, we stock them at the shop. Customers like the recognizable green top. |
You could leave it there, its typically a big rust panel under it. But to get it off you have get the 3 or 4 bolts out of it. They are a mayjor pain! And takes a lot to get to the bottom of them. Then it just pulls right out. Looks sweet on there though! Nice job. You should clear your corners, it'll look a lot better with that color of car.
|
looks good, I've got the same battery lol...never had any problems with it.

After reading a bunch of posts I found where people say to run the CAI right off the engine, getting rid of the rubber 90 degree that holds the air temp sensor. So I went down and got the right parts and pieces, now it's right! Remounted the temp sensor and tightened it all up. Now no need for a bracket, it sits there perfect! Thank you!

Looks nice! I had a spectre filter once upon a time. i just upgraded to a K&N

Actually I just need to get to the junkyard. They have a perfect set there I want to practice on, and use if I pull it off. |
