I got beet twice by a Dodge neon SOHC :angry: tell me what you think about this.

Yikes! What engine do you have? Were you at a 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile track?

What mods do you have, what mods did the neon have?

Yeah, what they said! You shouldn't be getting beat by any Neon, unless it's the SRT-4 or one that's heavily modded.

even so the srt-4 would take a stock alero anyday

I have no mods and a 2.4 liter with a auto not my pick for a trans but the neon was definetly a base model four door as far as could tell it had a exhaust so it probably had a intake and It was on a 1/8 mile track and I stuck right on his ass but he was getting me of the line my brother had a neon that was known to take down berettas with the 3100 so I never under estimate them but I should have beet it.

that sucks dude, my 3.4 v6 (jackal) takes my buddies 2001 firebird v6 5 speed damn near every time off the line. granted he has me on the open freeway because i still have the governor, but redlight to redlight its usually all me. shake it off and better luck next time.

I hate neons the only one I would ever buy is the srt-4

i've seen some pretty NICE looking neons around here that had a lot of work done to them..... actually made me have some respect for them.. never used to like em though

well i had a 95 neon with the SOHC motor, 5spd. Stock it ran 16.67 in the 1/4 after rapid fire plugs, CAI, ported TB it ran 16.43.

One thing you have to remember is the neon only weighs 2400 lbs. they have a lot better power to weight ratio than the alero.

A stock 2.4 auto alero runs high 16's so yes the neon should get ya by just a little.

yeah, but they are still ugly! Ever looked at one from the back or front, just too damn skinny and tall. They should have made them wider.
