Murdered Out
Ok couldnt really find the best spot to post this in so its goin here! :rolleyes2:
Alright so my paint is black..factory black. is there a way to get the flat black look (see example) by sanding the factory paint?? if so- suggested grit #? if its impossible to do that- is the only other option getting it completely repainted? (sanding, priming, painting) example: thanks for the help |
flat black on a modern car will look crap. sanding it to get that way will make it even worse, but if you really want it, it would look what you consider good if you strip it and paint it in a black primer, or regular black paint with a matte clear coat.

I agree that it wouldn't look too great....
With plastic models, you can spray a flat clear - not sure if they make something like this for cars though, might be worth looking at. edit: (matte clear, like he said ^) |
look like crap in your opinion. blitz black was the paint my buddy referred to me. any1 have experience with this paint?
car painted with john deere blitz black |
the way i envision it, is if i have a bodykit, tint, rims... it would look badass as all hell. not that grey kind of black more like the 2nd pic
|
if the cars is styled right it can b ok, but i usually am never a fan of flat colors on anything.
|
I like it!

flat black murdered (properly) looks better then shiny, imho. maybe its just because flat black paint on a car is rare. |
flat black can look way bad ass
|
wonder how long it would take before it looks like balls though. i mean... shiny paint/wax can be dulled pretty easily w/ salt and grime...
what would flat show? more flat? |
i still think it looks like garbage.
|
i sell the blitz black paint nad everybody that buys it loves the way it sprays
and i knew lonnie would like it |
im diggin that r35 u should do it
|
I seriously am thinking about doing this when I get the money if it's not too expensive because my car desperately needs a paint job anyway.
I haven't asked about it yet though. I just feel like all body work has to be perfect or it would really stand out though... even a single scratch would probably look terrible. |
Dayum! |
just leave it as it is and tint ur windows and get some black powdercoated rims
