is this real?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OLDSM...ht_3671wt_1165

is this like a joke?
or will this actually work, but just not as good as say the cosmo

Ttop191 04-13-2011 08:49 PM

that'll work just fine, only recommendation is to throw out that shitty filter and buy a K&n cone filter, Piping is Piping...

spc2125 04-13-2011 08:55 PM

but do you see on the ebay one its connected to the "big plastic thing"
where as the cosmo one hooks right up to the throttle

Ttop191 04-13-2011 08:57 PM

yeah i don't remember on the eco's what that box is...I'm almost thinking a resonator to reduce intake noise...someone correct me if i'm wrong

Redog 04-13-2011 10:09 PM

If you don't want the black plastic box, then buy this intake on ebay, then look up "silcone 90* elbow" ;) for whatever size the piping is

spc2125 04-13-2011 10:39 PM

im thinking the box is some type of silencer as well.
i see in the ebay one, the throttle vacuum hose? is connected to the "box" and so will i need to buy another type of hose because the stock one is short and idk whered id connect it to if i took the "box out

Ttop191 04-13-2011 10:45 PM

dude O2 sensor is exhaust...the only sensor in the intake is the IAT sensor

kwhauck 04-13-2011 10:53 PM

lol he edited out that it said 02 sensor.....

spc2125 04-13-2011 11:10 PM

yea sorry about that.
but still
when removing the "box" what will i do with the hoses that are connected to it..?

spc2125 04-13-2011 11:13 PM

see how there are hoses coming off from this one.

i dont think ill be able to buy the ebay one and just buy an additional 90 degree elbow
am i right?

AZFire316 04-13-2011 11:14 PM

there should be a spot somewhere on the new intake for the hoses to connect to.

Ttop191 04-13-2011 11:15 PM

just cut holes in the 90, shove the hoses in and silicone the hell out of it

Greencoupe2.2 04-13-2011 11:19 PM

why not just get the cosmo rather than going through all that trouble. plus the cosmo looks like it has a less restricted bend.

not on the ebay one, because its only meant as piping. and its meant to still have the "box" that connects all the hose together

AZFire316 04-13-2011 11:24 PM

if youre planning to go S/C I wouldnt waste money on this anyways.

spc2125 04-13-2011 11:33 PM

i think im going to go turbo

AZFire316 04-13-2011 11:38 PM

good choice, but still, this would be a waste of money, if that is your goal, save the money.

just curious, do you say waste of money?

AZFire316 04-13-2011 11:46 PM

because the part would be removed when the turbo goes on, not used anymore.

JLw7123 04-13-2011 11:52 PM

also u need to save money for the supporting mods. So the engine can hold up when your turbo the car.
