2.2 5spd won't shift into reverse

2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 5spd
Shifts into all gears, won't shift into reverse (physically, the lever won't move to reverse)

It's a little obvious, but I have to ask because you didn't mention...did you pull up on the collar under the shift knob?
