does anyone know how to take the governor chip off

I searched and read all the threads that were old and couldnt find it. I did a road test hehe a,d it stops at 110. I was pretty disappointed because my old old car a 2002 kia spectra stopped at 118 and thats the 4banger with 150hp. I want this dumb chip off my tires can handle 130mph 110 is cake. HELPPP PLEASE

first off, you do not need to go faster then what the road is rated for, hence why you found nothing on how to remove the Governor, it's there for a reason, unless you have a track star, and need to go faster, there is no reason to remove that limiter

kwhauck 02-25-2010 06:42 PM

there is no reason for you to go that fast on a highway, you can remove it via HPtuners, until then......grow up and keep it on the track......

If you don't know how to remove it, chances are you don't need to have it removed.

Your tires might be able to handle it, but most of your suspension/brakes won't...

just to inform you i had my friends dad with me thats a state high way and he put the bubble on my car so i woulnd hit a car

you didn't search very well, or read all the threads, there is atleast half a dozen different threads with people asking this, and a dozen threads with the answer.

mostly, it doesn't need to really happen. and when you actually need to remove the governor, you'll already know how to do it.

unless your friend's dad is stephen hawking... that "bubble" was useless.

2000+lbs @ 110mph = more Joules then you even understand.

Lol, I just think about what would happen if I lose a tie rod or a tire at 100+ and don't really want to go fast anymore... only topped out the Alero once when I was like.. 16... Haven't even hit 90 in the Buick or Aurora since then, the novelty wears off.

Getting to 60 really fast is more fun than just goin fast anyways.

but he called ahead and said hes doing a road test in a 2000 maroon alero and i past like 3 cops taking radar in the turn around and they didn't budge

and who was making sure everything on your car was mechanically sound?
who cleaned debris off the road?
who kept the wild animals away?

the variables can keep adding... and they still all point to how incredibly foolish that was...

This behavior isn't taken lightly around here...

ROFLMAO @ cherrys 1st post

Damn ur lucky then, I agree leave it 4 da track. But if u really need to kno take out ur VSS vehicle speed sensor youl go faster than the 108 but ittl also cause a ton of other instruments not to work.

the car only goes like 30 as a safety precaution, it won't let it out of 2nd gear

I love that we all know how and no one is willing to tell this dumbass for fear of contributing to his early death. Based on your other posts you are a new driver and should be kept under 80 let alone anywhere over 110. If you need to know use the search button.

sfi3400 02-25-2010 10:22 PM

new driver, im not a new driver i know how to drive and race on drag, and once and a while ill open it up on the highway when its open and clear. i was racing my ta ws6 for 4 years at quaker drag. and i opened that up to 150 on the highway when it was clear. not bsing or trying to be a prick here
