Replaced hazard switch

Got my hazard warning switch/flasher changed today. What a pain in the ass only because I have huge hands.Had to remove the radio and hvac unit, air vent, instrument cluster. Then fit my gorilla hands into the dash through small holes and twist them in ways that carpal tunnel does not agree with. I also found out that whoever changed it last broke the mounting bracket for it so I had to repair that as well with JB plasti-weld and electrical tape. All in all its done and now my damn turn signals work. Plus I like the black button better with the red LED.

Probably would've been easier to just remove the Speedo cluster

Thats what i do. ^

I couldn't get my hand around it to the other side even with the cluster removed so I had to do it through hard way. Definitely a con of being a big guy

How many bolts are there? two on one side and one on the other?

One on each side and one on the bottom

what prompted you to change your hazard switch? Mine works fine, but my blinkers do not I cannot figure out what the problem is...

I changed mine because my turn signals started to work intermittent and my actual turn signal/wiper switch was brand new. So I did some research and found out that the hazard switch is a common failure time. The flasher for the turn signals and the hazards is built into the hazard switch so I say replace it and you'll probably get your signals back.

Ok, that's exactly the issue I am having. Where did you buy your switch?

Orielly offers them with a black cover on it. If you want black instead of red.

Yea that's the one. i just picked up a Dorman one from O'reillys for $20. Not worth ordering off rockauto. The black does look better to me. An LED inside it lights up the triangle red at night.

Thanks I don't have an o'reilly's close to me, and autozone has the exact same switch for $30, so I can wait for rock auto to deliver it to me for $15.

Your welcome. Gotta love Rockauto. I couldn't wait because mine totally quit. It's a pain in the ass to get out, at least it was for me. Couldn't get my hands in the dash. Also be careful with the mounting bracket, it may be broken like mine was.

thanks for the heads up. my part was supposed to arrive yesterday, but its still in NC. so not sure when I'll be able to get the work done. I was hoping by this weekend. I may be selling it soon, and don't want something like this to be a ding on its value...
