Hello!!

Hey!
I bought my Alero a year ago to be a DD to go to my practice teaching sessions and didn't really think much of it at the time except that it felt like a solid car. A year later and it's still treating me well. Until last week. A head gasket blew and coolant was leaking into cylinder 1. Got that fixed. Then the power motor and regulator for my front right door went. Got that fixed. Then the front left same thing went. Got that fixed. Then my EGR valve went. Got that fixed. Also before everything went I put new tires on it (Riken Raptors...they are actually really good and stick like anything)
Now that it is running sound again (hopefully cause I dont have any more money to put into it right now...lol) I am looking at modding it a bit. I want to start with the body first then go to the engine then go to the sound system and interior.
Here is my list so far of what I want to eventually do:
tint
rims
projector headlights (custom)
LED taillights
OSV body kit
Jet Black paint with metallic blue primer (saw it on another car and it looked amazing!)
clear corners (until I get the projectors)

Is there anything else you guys can think of? Right now since I just put in about 3000 to get it fixed and soon need to pay back student loans I don't have a lot of money so I'm gonna try and do some Free/cheap stuff first. Any suggestions?

Specs are
4 door sedan
1999 GLS all options minus leather seats plus sports pack
Gold paint with beige interior
All stock so far

first step.. learn to fix stuff on your own. save yourself alot of money!

and it sounds like your list... matches just about every other member on site.

welcome.

Hey,
I fixed basically everything on my own and try to do everything on my own (thanks to the trusty Hayne's manual...lol) the only thing that I didn't do on my own was the head gasket replacement cause that was a little too much for me cause I am definitely the farthest thing from a mechanic and just starting out with all of this auto fixing!

When I find the time thoguh I am definitely going to start tinkering with things in my Alero to make it a custom and try to differentiate it from other customs.
