Nice work. Needs more lope ;) :)
That's the cold start bud, much more lope at idle when warm. Idle drops to 700 when it hits 60*C coolant temp...lol I'll grab a vid of it warmed and toss up here, see what you think
That's just awesome Paul.... how does it compare to your brothers? Can you notice much if any difference between the 2? I can't wait to come visit and have mine done.... whenever that might be.... :-/

You need a vacation Tim! And nice work :thumb: |
Thats what we have been telling him for months.

Chad and I have identical builds, his is a lot louder than mine with the SLP Loudmouth on it. His sounds amazing but not sure if I want that much sound on a daily driven car. His is his toy so he loves it. He says the drone will drive me insane for a daily
My buddu had a ws6 m6. Had LM1 no cats, res or anything. And pacesetter LT's. By far best sound ever and I rode in it alot. Personally I loved it. Wasnt much drone imo
Nice!!
I remember the LS6 springs going to blue, but I have the yellow LS6 with a .510 max lift, what are the blus rated at? |
Have you decided on your exhaust yet? Last time I was over you were still debating....
Really don't know now. May go for loudmouth II, they say it's a bit tamer than the first.
If you can find the GMMG exhaust; that sounds pretty killer.
Never heard of Gmmg, ran off to youtube and hot damn does it sound good! Better then LM1 imo. And LM1 was my go to exhaust for LS motors. But by far. LM1 or GMMG is the best sound for an LSx car.

The "New Blue" LS6 springs are rated at .600 lift max. GM uses them in conjunction with the Grand Am Cam which has one of the most insane ramp rates known to man. I would not take the spring over .570 though because that is just getting too close to spring bind. I went with the Hot Cam because of the split on it. Having a 219/227 and .525 lift makes it a perfect boost cam when the heads are done. GM made the Hot Cam with such a split due to the stock heads inability to get the exhaust out compared to the intake rate. Balances it out from intake to exhaust. That known, it's a great cam with not too much push at idle the way it is now on a stock converter. When I install the AI heads, dramatically increasing the heads ability to get the exhaust gas out, the cam then comes in line to be the perfect boost cam! To me, it was the best choice to start a build. Gives nice gains and retains drivability as is, and will not have to be pulled if I do go with a bit of boost down the road. As far as boost goes it's the Magnuson that I'm eying here... http://www.magnacharger.com/p-38-cor...arger-kit.aspx That kit adds around 120/120 to a stock LS1's output, on my build Id be closer to 150/140 with my current cam and better heads. That's down the road though, I do need that stall, heads and manifolds done first(next month!!). Then when I go boost, that's if I go boost, I'd go with a Strange rear and a 4L80 trans before the install of the charger. As you can see, this will be a multi-year build. Figure it's a 3 year endeavor I've got going here unless I win a lotto or something... hahahahaha... |
I'm back in town next weekend and I don't know how or when, but I'm coming over and getting a ride in that thing! ahaha
Looks and sounds awesome! I can't wait to see the video when it's all warmed up. Also nice work! :thumb:
Got the exhaust done, SLP Loudmouth II.... OMG its amazing!
Nice choice. I prefer LM1 over LM2 but hey! Still nice
Off topic question here paul, if i got different headers would it be beneficial to do tuning adjustments for that? |
