my lx9 swap thread
Well i started the swap tonight. Started pulling the moter around 8 and had the 3400 out by midnight. Ill up date as i make progress and post pix when i can.....pix..........
|
Sweet... Easy parts done now7
|
wow! how many miles on that engine? are you going to swap in new gauges and shibang or will you be able to tune it in?
|
80k on that new engine....
So hold on....you didn't have to drop the subframe? wtf.....lol |
Lol billy......
|
Well I was going to drop the sub frame but found I couldnt get the body high enuf. So that was a no go lol.
Papa, yes I will be swapping in a new cluster once all is finished. The new one will reflect the engines mileage, the old engine has 205k on it, My plans for the old one is to turn the block into a coffie table and the heads are going to be turned into a lamp. So I won't be getting rid of the Stock heart. Lol |
Wtf creepy i was browsing craigslist to make a block table last night

I'd like to see pictures of that when you get it finished...sounds cool. |
x2
|
Mimes going to be like this but either with a v6 honda motor or a v8 olds if i can fine a block for cheap enough |
only problem is thats gonna be a son of a bitch to move lol.
id love to have one, maybe ill do the same once im done with this block and start building the 3400. |

I seee.....must be a bitch to take stuff off with the engine still in there.....like taking the bolts off the torque converter.....i can't imagine that would be much fun:lol: Or the bolts on the back of the tranny....once the subframe was out everything was cake from there on out. My buddy lives on a farm so he had a tractor he could lift my car up with. Keep up the good work! |

Na, you buy casters at Home Depot ;) |
Dam that was a effin pita. So as of 445 this friday morning I'm 99% done the engine is in the car every thing is plugged in and plumbed, just gotta stalk the hell out of the mail guy, he's delivering my tce crank sensor kit, after that fire it up, it did turn the moter with the starter after I was finished ans she sounds nice and strong.
I'm exhausted I worked on it all day yesterday and pulled a all nighter to finish it off , I'm going to be taking video of the first fire up. Dam mail man needs to hurry his ass up. Lol. I'll post pix tommorow |
Wow....it sounds like you've made some good progress. I'm not sure who you bought your crank sensor kit from or if you bought the MMS swap kit, but it took several weeks after ordering before mine arrived because some of the parts had to be machined, so just be aware unless you've been in direct contact with your supplier to verify it's already been shipped. I can't wait to hear how your initial start-up goes.
I'll be gearing up to install my LX9 within the next two weeks after I get the sway bars from PFYC....then let the fun begin! Quote:

Here is some more pix

love the last pic lol

ok a update, still waiting on the crank trigger kit, the block head over at mp racing printed the shipping label but i dont think he droped it off yet at the post office, it was printed on the 5th says accepted on the 9th with a delevery date of the 11th, i went to the post office and they found out that it hasnt enterd the mail stream yet, so i emailed him today and havnt heard from him yet, im slighty effin pissed, this part should have been shipped the day after i payed for it and now my car cant start because of it, uuugghhh
|
WHY would you order from MPracing? Have you not paid attention to all the HORRIBLE reviews on here about them? Good luck. Should have gone with milzy or wot
|

No one else has them in stock
|

That's because the trigger kits are made by TCE. TCE stopped making the 65MM throttle bodies and I'm not certain if they have shut down completely. You can try directly contacting Marc who owns TCE, or Milzy regarding kit availability, but WOT-Tech (Ben) and TEC have now parted ways. You'll be lucky if you get anything out of MPR Racing including your money back if he doesn't deliver your parts and I'd start working on plan B if I were you. |

thats why you do not order from mp racing. |
Any one got marks contact info. If i don't see the part by Thursday them MD and Mpracing guy are gunna have issues. I have no problem driving to his place and getting my parts
|
I hate to say it, but you will never get your parts if you ordered from MP Racing. He simply sells parts he doesn't have and then pockets your money. Mark Petersen needs to be curb stomped for all the scamming he has done to this community.
I can almost guarantee that if you check with Marc the owner of TCE that he hasn't sold anything to MP Racing in over a year. Furthermore, the design of the crank triggers has changed slightly over the last year or so and is no longer an adjustable machined billet part. http://www.britishcarconversions.com...f9f16688da.jpg |

You can also send him a PM through GrandAMGT.com Quote:

Since he ordered it from MP Racing, he would need to contact MP Racing... not TCE. http://www.mpracing.org/store/contact-us.html Or better yet show up at his house/shop open a can of whoop ass! http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/sh...5&postcount=33 |
Quote:
I know that...but the reason to contact TCE or Milzy is to ask if they have any trigger kits available for sale at all so he can get his car running ASAP since MP Racing most likely doesn't even have the parts he ordered available to ship. EDIT: Ok...I see what you're saying now because he said Mark from MP Racing and not Marc from TCE. But I would still talk to those guys as a backup plan B while fighting with MP Racing to get his money back...yeah, right. |
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Why Did You Bought From Mpracing !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a plan b , if mp don't come through , I'm going to go through britishcarracing
|
ok an update... its been five days since it was "shipped", so i called the post office and they opened a investigation, they found that a shipping label was printed for me and a guy in Texas but neither show any actual shipping, meaning the shipment were never dropped off or picked up.
i goggled his address and found that he is only 3 hours away. i then emailed him asking if i could just come get my parts, no response yet, this idiot is pissing me off... |
Quote:
well you should have not ordered parts from him he has a very bad rep on here and other n body sights. there is a whole thread about it. |

he emailed me back saying if i dont see the parts by friday he will do the insurance thing through usps and ship a replacement part, im not holding my breath though
|
He is lying, believe me. I have listened to him tell customers this exact same thing for years. He never shipped, because he does not stock that part. TCE does not do consignment with MPRacing.
|
Quote:
then why does he list the part. just to take peoples money i am guessing. |

Milzy has a pretty bad rep here with me and Scot. He said he was coming to the Alero show a few years ago and going to donate a custom tuned PCM and trailer his Grand Am to show it off to all us N body guys. I gave him my cell phone number and told him that I would have no computer access from Wednesday until Monday because at the time I didn't have a laptop. He never called and send my ONE email on Saturday to let me know he wasn't coming. Our show was on Friday. I did buy something from Marc at MP about 2 years ago. I bought my HPTuners from him. I was worried about the transaction but it went pretty good. This was before Ben started selling it, because if Ben was selling it, I'm buy it from him Quote:
Ben gives the best customer service of all the companies I've dealt with over the years. Weather it was car parts, electronics, or toys for my kid. He provides the kind of customer service that most of us have only read about in history books, because that type of service disappered in the late 1960's Quote:
Pretty much |

Absolutely. |

Yea, but at least Mike ships the parts out. I got my swap kit within a week of ordering it. Might not be good with getting cars done at the shop on time but he DOES ship parts out. Plus i have gone to his shop in person....the same day he welded in a straight pipe for my exhaust, tuned my PCM and went with me on a test drive and took me out to get some food. Mike is a VERY smart guy....def learned a lot from him in that one day i was there. |
