Driver's seat adjustable lumbar issue.

I have a deflated adjustable lumbar unit. Has anybody dealt with this as to why and is it repairable or does the whole unit need to be replaced?

Thanks for any help!

I looked but couldn't find anything on just replacing the lumbar unit. I would look on ebay or junk yard for a whole seat.

Exactly! We senior folks need all the assistance we can get. I will probably go
ahead and do some disassembly and find out what my problem is. I could
decide to go non-adjustable and stuff a pillow in it when I re-assemble it.

I thought all Aleros have it. If you check the front of your drivers seat there should be a black dial you turn.

Also, I don't think there's much that could go wrong with it. I have no idea how it goes together but once you take it apart it shouldn't be too bad to fix. Personally if it was completely broken I'd just buy a new seat. They can't be expensive if you go to an auto wrecker.

as far as i know, i dont have no dials down there...mine's a GX tho, so probly doesn't have it

its not a bag that inflates.

its a turn screw that pulls the lumbar into your back..

Maybe its past the threads?

Maybe all you have to do is push on the lumbar part of the seat, and turn the dial to retract the lumbar...

Worked for my friend once in his gls..

Well this may narrow it down to a mechanical issue. Mine is broken in the
retracted position, however.

I'll check it out. Thanks teflone!

I have lumbar support again! I pulled up the seat-back covering and there is a
plastic rib-cage shaped plate, on a wire frame, that the adjustable cable
bends toward the seat front. The plastic had cracked at the mounting hole
where the cable was attached allowing the knob end to slip through. I won't
bore everyone with the repair details but feel free to contact me for any information.

Sure was cheaper than a new seat.
