2.4 Turbo kits?

Hi im new to the forums i have a 2001 oldsmobile alero 2.4 twin cam stock does anyone know were you can get a complete turbo kit for this car also dont you have to take it to a dealer once a turbo is installed and get the cumputer flashed any help will be appreciated.

There are no turbo kits available for our cars. Have to custom make one. Not hard, just costly.

worknprog.99 10-21-2009 09:29 AM

not as costly on your motor versus the 3400 v6

cumputer?

Check Aleromod Upgrades. It doesn't sound like you're going to be doing this anytime soon.

Costly? My setup was $1300.

I went cheaper than Ion and my setup ended up costing more lol....around $1800-1900

jayson_waltz 10-21-2009 10:25 AM

its not really to expensive, but you gotta be able to do some work yourself or the labor will kill you. and no, you will have to custom tune the pcm with something like hptuners a dealership won't tune a turbo setup (well, most normal ones unless they have a dyno setup)

i've been around aleromod for a long time, and i've been following, i just dont bother to post alot, and it seems that the alero does not have alot of mods, anything you want you must have it custom made.

whiterider00 10-22-2009 01:47 AM

um...ok. you must not have been following that well. there really is quite a bit out there. theres even (if its still available) the s/c available right from GM. some of the stuff is just listed under jbodys for the 2.2 and 2.4, or for the grand am or even malibu. just gotta be a bit more creative in your searches, just dont type in "alero performance". also, i dont think 7 months qualifies as "a long time" lol.

Yeah...
We've got headers, forged internals, cams, intakes, cat-backs, pulleys, sway bars, tower braces, superchargers, body kits, and so on. Really the only thing the Alero lacks for aftermarket compared to more populat "tuner" cars is a bolt-on turbo kit.

No you haven't.
A few years is a long time. I've been around almost 2 and don't feel as if its been that long.

lol. same here... i think my first year was late 2001. then i dunno what happened but i either had to get a new screen name, or the site crashed or something caseu it says i joined in 2004 but i got my alero in 01 and signed up then. Anyway, like someone said... you can pick stuff that works on 2.4 z24 cavaliers, grand ams, ect. there is more "tuner" stuff available for the j-body community, but it overlaps here.
