cherrington17 08-19-2009 08:04 AM

they are all too busy marrying 15yr olds and making them baby farms. i kidd. i have mormon friends who are rather normal, and used to live in utah...

just find something to do until school starts. get out and drive around... familiarize yourself with the area.

Ryan from Ohio 08-19-2009 09:16 AM

cherrington17 08-19-2009 09:44 AM

Bad99Olds 08-19-2009 09:50 AM

ryan we should roll to utah with copious amounts of alcohol and make a big ol party :)

lonnie 08-19-2009 09:54 AM

I bet it is peacful out there though...or at least you could go on a hike..biking or something to get out of the city/town. I wonder how the fishing is out there?

99alerogirl 08-19-2009 10:29 AM

haha come on out ryan and matt. could make for an interesting time. it is peaceful out here. my dad's out here with me right now (mom wouldn't let me drive alone.. dumb), but he flies back on friday or so. after that i'm gonna be reeeeally active. i'm even in a running class! haha. but i gotta get in shape for when my boy comes back :) i'm gonna buy a bike as soon as i get this job thing figured out and get some cash flow, but there are plenty of places for that. as for fishing i'm not sure... not a big fishing person. we hiked to this lake on top of a mountain last time i was out here and there were a lot of people fishing there though. you just have to climb 7,000 feet to get there!

 shes just racking up tons of points here.. (not that her rack needs more)

HazMatt24 08-19-2009 11:18 AM

Utah is great for mountain biking/hiking. You want to be careful with alcohol there though, they have some strange laws, like I think you have to go to a bar to get booze (the actual bar wherever you are), they can't serve you away from the bar. Also, I know if you go up to Lake Powell and start out in Arizona, if you cross into Utah and your booze doesn't have a seal from them (i.e. bought in Utah) they can ticket you.

Be careful up there, they go to Bringem Young University, so you might be considered too old for the mormon boys to take an interest in.

99alerogirl 08-19-2009 11:40 AM

haha i don't care about the mormon boys. and i look 16 anyways, so oh well. yeah the liquor laws changed recently and they can serve alcohol in the dining area in a restaurant, but they have to pour it behind a wall so no minors know what it is. i don't drink beer really, so it'd be interesting to know if they're allowed to serve beer in bottles or cans in restaurants. and the liquor stores around here just say "STATE LIQUOR STORE" and they don't have any ads or anything on the outside. it's CRAZY!

Ryan from Ohio 08-19-2009 01:42 PM

lol she knows my name too! Im a bit perplexed.

When you go to get a bike get a good one. I cant believe the difference between a $300 mountain bike from Sears to the $440 Trek Hybrid bike I got now.

Hell my fat ass just did 26 miles! I feel good and could ride for more!

99alerogirl 08-19-2009 01:44 PM

wow nice! i wish i could ride that long. i rode my sister's crappy mountain bike for 5 miles and though i was dying.

lonnie 08-19-2009 01:50 PM

Good Luck out there.

Ryan from Ohio 08-19-2009 02:18 PM

All depends where your riding.

if its paved trails or roads pick up a Trek 7000 or 7100 WSD. They are not $100 department store bikes... But they are worth the money easily if you intend to RIDE.
