Fuel Leak
 

Hi all, on my mom's 2001 2.4 Alero, one of the fuel lines at the back of the engine, has begun leaking. I'm not sure if it's the feed line, or the return line, any ideas?

As a temporary repair, you might be able to use a pipe cutter and cut out the large diameter metal part that connects to the rubber part, and cut the rubber section out that has the leak. Then add a new section of hose with hose clamps and an inline brass connector. Then order a new complete hose assembly if you can.

I found the part number of the hose assembly (24576680), and it doesn't look too hard to replace it. Is there a preferred site to order discounted GM parts, like how Ford has Fordparts.com?

if hes going to replace the line anyways, cutting hose and pipe seems silly.

i had a leak on the grand prix, i literally sprayed "flex seal" on my gas-line. it worked perfect as a bandaid until the new hose came in

Jus did both of mine. Move the fuse box. And make sure you buy a fuel line remover kit from your local auto parts store

I just got the hose and o rings, already have a quick disconnect tool. Any tips on how to remove the fuse box?

Edit: Never mind I figured it out.

Finally got the feed line changed out, the feed line is part #24576680 and the two o-rings are #12339317.



Also if you haven't already, you should probably check the condition of your Map sensor hose, it caused a misfire and I found the hose just sitting there rotted off on both sides.

A new one is part # gm6148-m



After doing some math, I found it's got 71K miles on NGK G-power single plats I put in, in 2007, still running ok, but probably time to change em out.
