Performance chip "Oxygen Sensor POWER Performance Chip" "Surge Performance Chip"
Alright men, this is a thread where you tell as much as you know
"Oxygen Sensor POWER Performance Chip" and "Surge Performance Chip" Start Your Keyboards! On your mark!! Get Set!!! GO!!!! |
i thought there was no chip for the alero?
at least for the ecotec anyways |
I looked it u and I have to say it sounds just about worthless...just like one of those ebay scams...spend your money on something worthwhile?
edit: just found this pic on some other forums, while other people were talking about this.. Really?? |
That will do absolutely nothing at all. Can we say SCAM!!!!!
|
Go ahead and send me the money. (I prefer cash)
and I'll make your car faster, using my sheer mental fortitude. Its win win. |

directly from their site..I have a hard time believing 15-25 hp is going to give you 20% better acceleration... http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/O2-...ce-CHIP/17964/ |
just looks like a o2 simulator to me, except they are being ra-tards and saying it gains power. Which it won't. Same as any "chip" for these cars, all scams. The only way to get anything better is to custom tune.
|
thanks for the help. saved my from a $100 scam and a waste of a xmas present :)

WOW :drunk:

17 yrs 4 months and counting
|
I don't get it?? Why does being interested in a performance chip equate to being young??
Seems to me it equates to just being ignorant on how to properly gain horsepower, instead... |
which is usually stereotyped as younger people.
|
Although I see it everyday with middle aged people too.
|
Just remember that there is no "magic drop-in chip" for Aleros, if you want to tune your car's computer to increase horsepower, there's actual software that is dyno proven to increase horsepower. And don't worry if you feel like a newb, we were all there once(I still consider myself a newb). Also when it comes to increasing horsepower, the bigger mods are never cheap.

you say there are none for alero's, so is there a type of car that it actually works for? |
Not really. People set up scams like this to put a resistor in line with a sensor or pour some liquid into your gas tank. They charge you a million dollars and tell you it will give you horsepower. There isn't really any car that this stuff works in. The only thing it will end up doing is cause damage in the long run. The best thing to do is have you car professionally tuned at a dyno or pay some serious cash to have some real mods installed. About the cheapest power adder there is is a CAI or WAI, and that doesn't even get you that much.
|
I know they do exist for pre OBD2 cars. A buddy of mine has a chip in his 95' Mustang. BUT it actually interacts directly with the ECU not just messing with an O2 sensor.
And its not just some idiot in his basement that just puts a resistor in a little black box and makes rediculous claims. So yeah, performance chips DO EXIST for other cars. I've personally only seen them for older cars because cars nowadays can be easily be tuned through the OBD2 port. There is OBD1 tuning for some of those older cars as well, but its not as common as OBD2. |
