New shell!!
Well after looking and looking...there was one alero I came across that was decent. Since I live in Michigan ALL the alero are rusted out to nothing or the dash is just tore apart..I came across a 2004 one owner final 500! 200,000 miles on her and they got the car brand new in 2004! Since its in Michigan and it's a 11 year old car it has some surface rust here and there but nothing as bad as my old alero (babyblue) the dash is in good shape and the seats are good. The driver seat has a small tear in it but shouldn't be much to fix. Back seat is not so good but it can cleaned or replaced. ( they had car seats in it:/). But yes the shell is here and the swap is getting done to it. I've been in contact with milzy to see how much it will be and how long it will take to do since I have all parts already. Hopfully I'll have it for ASS! I'm very excited to have another alero! Oh and fyi it's number 40 of 500. Will post pictures asap!

You are about to be banned. LMAO

Hahaha yessss!

Hey now. It's still gonna look like a final 500 just set up a Little different. Window tint, big break kit, and exauat on the outsie. |
Was it the one in the Muskegon area?

Yeah, in north muskegon. |
Are you going to lower it with big wheels too or keep it looking as stock as possible on the outside?
|
I've always thought about making an "improved" Final 500 but never did, minus a Pioneer DVD player or wheels but that's al 100% reversable. Having Android Auto in a Alero is awesome, most new 2016 cars don't even have that yet! I support this.

Your next project, SBC 350 in a 1971 Cultass 442
|
Congrats on the find! Once (if) I get some decent money coming in I'm gonna be looking for a coupe shell, that or find a shop that can repair the current one's rust damage. I think it will cost about the same either way. I've seen a few Alero's on CL lately some of them look pretty nice. But it's tax season so everybody thinks their junk is worth gold right now.

Lower it probably down the road. It's going to be just like babyblue-RIP  ..with that being said. All I'm looking to change on the outside is. Window tint, big break kit I have, and exhaust tips. The rims need a good clean and some rust needs to be taken care of. I'm going to this body guy that did babyblue and he is going to let me know how much it is to fix it. This way it can be all cleaned up for ASS! |

I didn't think we'd see you back! Considering the dilapidated state of the car, I can be ok with your modifications. At least it will be saved from an early death at the hands of an idiot, or junk yard. Assuming you dont drive this one into a guard rail.
|

Yeah, that won't happen lmao. |
It's good to see you're getting back in the saddle. Good luck getting Milzy to finish in time. He's still supposed to have mine done before ASS this year and the car is sitting in virtually the same spot I left it nearly 2 years ago. I'm about to go get it for scrap and demand my money back so I can be done with it.

I bassicly have everything he needs to get it done(from bolts to engine/trans). All he has to do is weld the trans mount, feed the shifter cables and put the swap in. I don't see it taking months on months. |
Going to drop her off at Milzy Motorsports at the end of the month to get the 3500 and f-40 put in her!:) after I get hey back, the exhuast will get done.
|
Gah! I wish I had one of the final 500.... My own is an '04, but it is not one of the final ones. Congrats on the find, Babyblue!
|
Hello everyone....almost 4 months later and I have my final 500 back. The first final 500 with a six speed. Not very happy with how dirty my car was when I picked it up. My tan interior had become a towel for greasy hands. Would like to put it out there, I will never make that drive again.

Awesome that you got it back, however that is just sad. I know we are a dying niche but that doesn't mean we should get crappy service. |
Not all of the Aleros in MI are rusted out. I picked this up a couple months ago in Holland, MI with 124,000 miles. I have done some things ,but overall very solid. The pass side air bag cover was peeling up so I found a good one at the junk yard for 5 bucks and replaced. The leather seats are in real good condition also for its age.

I already cleaned most of it up, but some of it won't come out. Not to mention that there is a nice tear in my driver seat now. |

Well, ain't that just lovely? Most places here put plastic over the seats to protect them so that they don't become a grease towel or take any damage.. Have you asked Milzy about the damage to your interior? :banghead: Anyway, would still like to see pics of how your Final 500 turned out! |

That is not acceptable. It is their responsibility to keep your car in the condition they received it in. The way they handled your car sounds like pure negligence. I would consider small claims court to have them fix it.
Did you try "Dawn" detergent on the seats? It works wonders on grease. |
Yea thats unacceptable. If I had my own shop every car that left would have a quick detail, especially for a repeat customer like you are.
|
Not surprising another eff up by milzy motorsports...
This guy is becoming quite unreliable and not worth the hassle... We need to get Ben at wot tech some more business... Sorry about your car man... Hopefully you can fix the seat cover and yeah, small claims and bbb report for sure... |
Btw... Let's see some pictures and a video of this thing!!! :)
|
Last night was driving and the car wouldn't go into reverse...well who ever installed the shifter, did a piss poor job. I had to cut some of the center console away so the shifter cable could move the way it wanted. I would also like to say. When I went to pick it up they didn't even have the plastic that covers up the shifter in there. I think I know why too, cuz the Damn thing pops out because once again. The guy who installed the shifter did a piss poor job.

|
Oh, it is nice to see a Final 500 in lovely shape like that! Hope you can get the issues of negligence fixed, shame to have such a lovely car being treated like that.
|
Well, I went to park in the lot at work and my clutch Pedal didn't go down. Sooo....I forced it down and we'll it went down. At that point a spring hit my leg. Now my clutch pedal has a bunch of play in it.
|
Damn... Sorry to hear that, Blue. Get it looked at at a local shop this time lol!
|
Does anyone know if you can mess anything up if you don't have the return spring in your clutch pedal?
|
Have you called milzy?? These issues are ridiculous!!!
|
Yes, I did. He bassicly said, idk why that would happen and those parts are discontinued.
|
You're best off with the spring in place. Without it the pedal will rest against the clutch master cylinder, putting a small load on the clutch system and can/will lead to a shortened clutch life.
Quote:
Bring it to a good mechanic, have them diagnose the cause of the problem, and fix it. The parts may be discontinued, but you can still get em off ebay, or a junkyard.. some newer cars may even run a similar set up (the white plastic part of my shift linkage is from a Cobalt) |
