Beef up my LD9

With tax money about to come in and my judgment once again being a little impaired... I'm debating finally picking up a supercharger kit, doing the secret cam swap and upgrading my header and throttle body to help give the old girl a little extra kick. Is there anything else that I should be considering to get the most out of my LD9 if I go ahead and start into it?

If I do all of this I'm probably looking at around $3000 in parts alone. I have virtually no clue what I"m doing when it comes to all of this customizing, but I'm sure that I can figure it out or pay Milzy to do it for me. What am I missing?

The header is simple... the super charger isnt hard it nothing needs fabbed... but the cams I wouldnt feel comfortable doing

Can you confirm that this kit is complete 100%? It looks to be missing several small parts vs the Gm stock photo on pace preformance.

djwikit 01-28-2014 08:48 PM

Supercharger available here is just the mp62 with snout and 3.1" pulley for $300. Intake manifold is $100. I asked and no brackets, plumbing, or bolts included.

sleepyalero 01-28-2014 08:55 PM

Yeah screw that deal then. It would be no fun tracking down all needed bolts and other misc things.

yeah picture shows everything you need basically. small parts are bolts, spark plugs, no big deal

The other guy is confusing this thread with the info for the eco kit (which is not.complete)

The ld9 kit on j-body is complete and a damn fair price IMO!! Ryan, if you're serious about doing the motor work this is a good buy compared to buying new... if anything find out more about the kit and why he's selling it and search through j-body to see if.he has posted any threads looking for advice or problems while owning the kit...

Just my 2¢ though ;)

[ion] C2 01-29-2014 09:55 AM

I sold mine for $800 back in the day, it's a good price for something that goes for what, $2500 nowadays new? ridiculous

hop on that deal fisdad

Good point to check for issues. There is also a new kit on ebay for $1400.

I'm debating it. I can also buy new on ebay.... I'm also considering buying another members car. I'm still checking on the details.

[ion] C2 01-29-2014 10:03 PM

there's really no reason to buy new, save your money and use the extra for other things

if the MP62 kit was still around, i'd say get that, looks much nicer in the bay. i used to have a goal of putting that supercharger on my car. i had a flange, a fabricator, and a supercharger.

I don't think it does, but it's nice.
