S&S headers

Just wondering if anyone has the measurements of the cross over.... I bought mine used and they didn't have the donut gasket and I haven't found an appropriately fitting one yet.... I'm looking into switching it to a v band but do not know the size I need....
Any help is appreciated! :)

It should be a 2.5" pipe.

You can easily measure it on or off the car.

Ill text you.

I had to take mine to Mytee and they fitted it for me. Its a weird size and I had some serious issues finding one.

I can let you know. Don't know when I'm going to get to it, but I want to paint my front header :coolio:

sleepyalero 11-30-2015 11:06 AM

Why not just have the whole set recoated kenny, why do JUST the front header?

tw0123 11-30-2015 02:52 PM

They're on the car still... that's why i didn't just measure it myself haha! I'm thinking I'll probably just take it to a shop to do the work while they're still on the car to make sure they sit right with the piece that needs to be added to cover where the flange is....

thanks Ken I'd appreciate it if you can get that for me! I think if i can buy the v band myself it should save me some cash at a shop.... mine need to be recoated or some high temp paint as well.... there's some surface rust popping up from sitting for 3 years....

Sand blast + ceramic coat = happiness. Dont do paint.

Redog 12-02-2015 12:30 PM

Probably going to be a little while, so if you can find out the info beforehand...

tw0123 12-02-2015 02:26 PM

No rush Ken... my car's off the road til the spring at least unless i can get a smoking deal at a body shop....

OK let me know if you pull them off, I am working at a shop that dose a lot of custom exhaust.... so it would be no problem for me to bolt them up to a spare block that I have and I may be able to get a decent price on a v-band as well.

I may just have to take you up on that Scott! I'd just have to figure out how to get them down to you.... how long would you need them for?

Probably a week at the most as long as we are not too busy. It would not take long to do as long as every thing is ready to go! (1-2h at the most)

As for getting them down here... winter meet?

tw0123 01-13-2016 12:47 PM

Haha yeah.... if have to try and get them off the car and at this point find the car! We got 18" pig snow this week alone.... I'll probably text you when I'm ready to have it done ;)
