99 Alero electrical problem,

Had this happen today. first time I have ever seen this happen. this Moring I started the Alero and headed to work. when I started it I seen the "security" light was on, but paid no attention. about 3 miles into the drive the check engine light came on, and it was at that point I noticed all instruments were not working everything was flat lined. got to work and shut it off. lunch time I went out and started it up. now all I have is the battery light. after work, started up the alero, and nothing has changed. only the battery light, no reading on the cluster. when I got 3 miles from home, all of a sudden I heard "ding, ding, ding" the instrument cluster came back to life. all the warning lights came on, speedo, tack, fuel and water started reading correctly. then about 15 seconds later all the warning lights went out and the car was back to normal. anybody ever have this happen?

agreed. Unless water has gotten somewhere it shouldn't be, you'll have all kinds of strange issues.
