interior neons

I want to install interior neons, but I see that the aleros havea one pice dash going on does that mean I am going to have to take off the entire dash to install these?

p1mptress 01-10-2007 11:20 PM

NO! Where do you want to install them? It's very easy to take apart our cars. It all depends where you want to install the neons. And I think leds would be better.

NYorkrider 01-10-2007 11:55 PM

I want to put one under the driver side an one under the passenger side and then I have leds for the middle little cubby thing

billytheman1188 01-10-2007 11:56 PM

alright listen man, you dont need to take anything apart, put them right under the dash! why would you take the whole thing apart????? this is a simple install

NYorkrider 01-10-2007 11:58 PM

to instal the switches and wire them up I need to get like behind the dash so I figured I would have to remove it becuase its not in pieces like my accord unless I put the switches someplace else

Satsuriku 01-11-2007 12:12 AM

like these?

lol

NYorkrider 01-11-2007 01:20 AM

yea pretty much lol

billytheman1188 01-11-2007 10:20 AM

You dont have to take the dash apart to wire it up, put one neon tube on each side, run a wire to each one, then run that wire to the fuse box on the driver side, and then you just hook it to a fuse that is on when the car is on.

the wires you can just tuck under there somewhere, i havent been under there for a while so i dont remember, but my leds were simple to put in.

billytheman1188 01-11-2007 10:20 AM

oh and make sure you put the tubes where nobody will kick them:lol:

yea, they are a great place to shop from, great customer service.

If you end up buying from oznium and you buy the "prewired LEDs", make sure you get around 6 (3 leds for each side), cause 2 isnt too bright, i just put pink leds in my sisters car and i used 2 prewired for each side and they definitly give out a good amount of light, but if you are looking for a lot of light i would say go with 3 for each side.

cherrington17 01-11-2007 11:45 AM

ha! i have 7 on each side....

one on the drivers vent, 2 in each of the centers, and 2 on the passagner vent.

not to mention 3 in each door cubby. 5 in the center console, 2 in the center console cubby, 5 got gauge lights...

...of each color i posted... and 12 white, as a dome light. Prewired is for newbs. lol

Satsuriku 01-11-2007 09:00 PM

14 on each side, 7 green 7 blue. 1 of each color in the door slits and center cubby and 3 of each under the seats glowing to the back, and 18 of each color in each wheel well. lol lotsa leds and im still not done :)

clutch1 01-11-2007 09:31 PM

Showoff, eh?
2 red LEDs in each large vent, 1 red LED in each small top-dash vent.
2 red LEDs in radio pocket
2 Red LEDs in cup holder
1 4" red neon in each door pocket
1 7 color LED in each speaker grill (front door)
1 7 color LED in each door handle (all around)
1 7 color LED in the rear handle-ish places where the screw cover is on the back doors
2 4" blue cathodes in the middle under the dash
2 10" red LED bars shining down onto mats under dash
2 10" red LED bars shining forward from under seats
2 4" cathodes in the rear seat lip
2 10" red neons under the back of the front seats
2 4" blue and 2 12" red cathodes on the roof
3 red LEDs in the roof map pocket
2 red LEDs in each seatbelt hole
red bulbs all around for map/dome lights
1 4" red neon per rear speaker grill
And one strobe that flashes under the dash when the subs are on

That's my setup...

And that's only the interior :)

Satsuriku 01-12-2007 12:02 AM

lol sorry but chris's 2 color cluster out does us all............well, except for marc, could have seen his car from outter effing space!!

Quinn1 04-15-2009 12:53 AM

When you are putting in neons on the interior where do you put the wires in the fuse box on the drivers side? I found a place to put them so they turn on but they don't turn off when the car is off...they just stay on. I ended up blowing a couple fuses trying to put them in lol it would be very helpful to see a picture of how its done.

[ion] C2 04-15-2009 01:02 AM

Uh, the radio fuse... or use a switch and tap into the cigarette lighter wires...
