Some old, some new...

I was just looking through some old pictures and thought I would share...

this has been cleaned up significantly...

tw0123 12-02-2010 01:09 AM

and some more...

This is the dirtiest my car has been... I was not happy...

tw0123 12-02-2010 01:14 AM

still some more...

And this brings us up to date... Misty and Tequila sitting in the driveway... One off the road for the winter, one on... New paint and some body work scheduled for the spring/early summer, and all will be well again... plus more interior work on Misty to clean up the stereo again... and some engine goodies as well...

sleepyalero 12-02-2010 02:24 AM

man my car has never been that dirty and i wont allow it to either lol

and i like the dodge neon that is snowed in haha

kwhauck 12-02-2010 10:56 AM

what, booby dash in an alero? looks weird!

heineck 12-02-2010 01:34 PM

i would yank out those vents and put gauges in their place, did that on my friends MX-3, looked legit

That01Olds 12-02-2010 06:14 PM

robalero 12-02-2010 06:32 PM

pretty sure he did the whole interior swap....

tw0123 12-02-2010 10:20 PM

^^ you are correct sir...
got the grand am as a motor donor for Misty this spring for $350, and the interior out of Tequila was pretty much shot, so I figured, wth, might as well give it a shot and swap it out and see how it works... so far, my turn signals have gone hyper, and I can't get my horn to work again... Other than that, it works like a charm... So far the grand am has come in really useful lol... engine, interior, windshield, mirrors, and I have sold off most of the body parts as well...

LMAO... good luck on that one... I scored it for $200 and probably wont get rid of it until I get sick of owning an Alero... and since I keep adding them to my collection of cars, that might not be anytime soon...
Sorry, lol...

pimpalero2003 12-04-2010 05:35 AM

Is sub box glassed inside? The seem on the right of pic looks like a hell of a gap

Nah, it is just MDF... I have to redo the whole thing, make it more usable, and also for better sound proofing...
This was just a quick fix, I needed bass and just tossed it in there...

Ttop191 12-05-2010 08:14 AM

Fall AoTM worthy

robalero 12-05-2010 08:52 AM

ah realy whole swap eh? I wonder how that would of looked in an alero. I might have to dig up pictures if there is any on here lol

tw0123 12-05-2010 04:37 PM

TTop-- Thanks, I was thinking about it, just didn't know how an ass shot would work for the front page lol...

Robalero-- scroll up for more pictures of the interior swap... lol

tw0123 03-01-2011 02:30 PM

kwhauck 03-01-2011 05:04 PM

Nice!! Rock em on the van, they don't belong on the alero.......

robalero 03-01-2011 05:19 PM

i actually like them on the alero, from just looking at the rims I don't like them but when its side by side I think they look good

hok666 03-01-2011 07:02 PM

I like the style of the rims. But 20s on a mostly stock alero.....not so much..

After getting the wheels, the only thing from left to get for the outside is a body kit... I already have the cowl hood, clear corners, mild engine work, strut tower bars, full stereo, and it is lowered...
and... I got them for $500... even if they don't fit, I re-sell them for a profit...

wow its gonna look just like mine

robalero 03-02-2011 05:12 AM

haha there you go almost exactly how its going to look on the alero minus the hood

kwhauck 03-02-2011 08:53 AM

And -Alero- rims are 17s, way different look.

tw0123 03-02-2011 03:19 PM

^ I agree it is a way different look, but that is what sold me on the style, seeing how they looked before I bought them was definitely infuential on the decision...
I am going to leave my head lights chrome, might steal the tail light idea though, as I hate the orange turn signal...

Shiwnath 03-02-2011 04:13 PM

nice GA Interior swap. looks good

clutch1 03-02-2011 07:27 PM

Sweet rims, Remind me a lot of mine.. so of course I think you should rock them ;)

frankie257 03-03-2011 06:37 PM

Hey, how do you have your low beams turned on without the amber lights on?

Greencoupe2.2 03-03-2011 06:54 PM

He has daytime running lights, As far as I know all aleros have them. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Alerojester 03-03-2011 06:56 PM

yes that i know of they all have them just some are in the high beams and some are in the low beams (unless disabled by the owner)

i put in the white turn signal bulbs, and they are not as bright as my head lights... this is how it gives the appearance that they are not on... but they are on... it is illegal with the white lights instead of the amber, but so far i have not had any issues...

Lucalare 03-04-2011 11:54 AM

I have "white" bulbs in my turn signals too, however I have Wagner true-view headlights that look like about 6-8000Ks, so my white halogen turn signals look amber in comparison.

BigFolkzz 03-04-2011 02:09 PM

I really like the Vegas!! I run vegas all day!

tw0123 06-20-2011 10:23 AM

A couple more additions that will be going on really soon I hope... I am only mildly mechanically inclined, so I rely on my neighbour who is a GM mechanic to do most of the work so I don't screw it up!!!
After last summer, I developed a gas leak at the top of the block right under the intake cover... So it has to come off to re-seat it and while I am at it these are going on...

Ported upper, lower and TB purchased from Redog- repainted from the red he had... black with bronzemist lettering to match the car...

S&S headers with high flow cat and extended O2 sensor-picked up from a GAGT member,

and I have decided to go with the Interceptor gauge for the 3rd gauge for my pillar pod... Just have to wait for the stupid postal strike to end to get it...

mrmike 06-21-2011 03:22 AM

cool! btw did you put those rims on or sell them?

I have not put them on yet, no sense them sitting there getting a flat spot until the car is fully running again... I had to get a set of 1" spacers for the back to clear the spring perch, the front fit with minimal clearance... I might get a 1/8 spacer to balance them out a bit more... afterall, it is a FWD lol...
