Locating paint number

hi,
Im new here, i've been around the forums for over a month now, but i recently registered. I have a 2002 alero 3.4L. I'm trying to locate the paint number so i can purchase paint to fix some small rust spots. I already looked on the drivers door and there was nothing that said anything about paint, any one has an idea where i can find the code, i already fixed some spots, but when i painted it the paint did not match, so can any one help me find the paint colour. thx

uhh... no.

If you look on your spare tire cover, the paint code is located on the Service Parts Identification Label.

what's the difference between the upper and lower paint codes? or is there one?

bdyman 03-29-2009 11:57 PM

yes cars that are 2 toned from the factory will have upper and lower paint codes, import companies are nice enough to even go as far to put the interior paint code on the car for us
ford does it too, dodge does it too, not gm and its a pain in the balls when we dont have a paint code for a lower accent color or a interior color code
so then were finding something close in teh book then we spend more time trying to tint the color, but its all good we get paind for tinting colors
