Dorman Products Control Arms

I bought a set of control arms for my car about a year ago. They are Dorman, and they ran about 60 bucks per side. There were more expensive ones from MOOG, but these dormans had a lifetime warranty, so I figured go for it. They were a HUGE PITA to install however! Plan on at LEAST a few hours if you have to do this! Anyhow, fast forward to today. My car is making a horrible grinding noise when I turn the wheels. After further inspection, both of the ball joints on these new control arms are bad. Yes, they are under warranty, but for the trouble it is to install them (again), I will be getting my money back and getting the MOOG ones. So that everyone knows. Stay away from these control arms, spend the extra 40 bucks and get the better ones. Wish I did!:usa:

MOOGs are $60.99 each at Rock Auto

I wonder where the Dormans are made?

did you tighten the bolts at ride height when you did so? if not that could be the cause of why you 1. had issue 2. failed so early

Interesting. I've never really checked into rock auto on anything. Maybe I should... I've always just gone to the local advance auto parts here. I did install them at ride height, as per ALL DATA instruction. So I think it was either a. defective products, or b. cheaply made arms.

Redog stated where to buy what he suggested. The OP stated where he bought the supposedly faulty ones. What link do you want? www.rockauto.com?

That's what you get for buying Dorman crap. Pretty much all their stuff is Chinese crap that won't last. I'm surprized that it even lasted a year.
