Hey everybody. Went to Englishtown ( Raceway Park ) yesterday and did a few runs. I've added so pics, because I know that if these times were posted without proof, I'd have a lot of haters.

The first 2 runs were done with my spare and jack still in the trunk and a little more thna 3/4 tank of gas. (car weight 3346) The 3rd was without the spare and about 3/4 tank of gas (car weight 3306).

Yeah my second run time was bad becasue my tires were wet from the water box, I guess I didn't light them up enough. When I took off, I jumped up to 5200 rpms and about 45 or 50 mph before hooking up properly.

time slip 2
16.228 but with a good r/t. Won the race
SPANK THAT CIVIC

Redog 03-01-2004 02:06 PM

time slip 3
15.415 @ 88.72 MPH
Good r/t
Narrow victory aganist a CIVIC :)

Your 60' was ass on the second run (2.7), and in the third run, the civic had higher MPH numbers than you all the way down the track but somehow still managed a slower time? Strange... must've messed up on the 1-2 shift or something because he falls behind in between the 60' and 1/8th mile markers...

R/t won it for you in the last one. Technically, his CAR beat your CAR, but you beat him.

61 degrees outside helps too.

I know that's the first thing I noticed, but winning's winning.

2nd run, really bad start. Spun up the wheels to about 50 MPH at about 5200 RPMs. Tires still wet from the water box, I didn't spin them enough

Pic of my second launch. The bad one

I just noticed you can see his head turned to my lane

Nice work. I wish I could have gone but I had to work that day and I'm not supposed to be racing (or doing much of anything else) until my right hand heals (tore a ligament playing hockey). I do recognize some of the vehicles in the pits behind you so I guess I'm going to have to get a bit of practice in down there before the Points season begins in 2-3 weeks.

One word of advice on the waterbox: unless you are running slicks you are best to avoid the water completely. Street tires so not need to be warmed up and the burn outs can actually make your traction worse (like when you had water in your grooves). Go around the box and do a 2-second dry hop and that's all you need.

Once the Points season starts, you should try to come down on one of those Sundays and I'll work on a few things with you there then.

I was looking at the schedule last night. Those point weekends can I run my car?

Thanks for the advice, and I will be sure to stop by a few Sundays. Doing Street Wars this Saturday, so that will be fun :)

Daytona 03-03-2004 12:12 PM

I really REALLY wanted to do street wars, too, but I have to work every Saturday morning this month. :( I figured it would be an easy way for me to make some easy money while getting in some practice on the new LED lights prior to Points starting.

As for your typical Sunday, you can sign up to run in Street Eliminator on the main track or down on the 1/8th mile track for Trophy Stock. There's no open timeshots on Sundays unless you want to pay $100 for a 6-run Test-&-Tune card. In Street and TS you get 2 time shots in the morning and then you have eliminations later in the morning for TS or in the afternoon for Street.

On Sunday, April 25, Naich will be down there practicing with his cousin's car. It's also a Points day for me.

I might try to get down there for future Street Wars races. I also have to find time to get down there for practice before the 1st day of Points on the 14th. Maybe a Friday evening as I'm screwed over with the work situation for Saturdays and they don't begin the evening sessions on Saturdays until after the 14th. :pissed:

If you are running street radials, there is no need to warm the tires up in the water box. Just go around the box and once you hit dry pavement, just light up the tires enough to clean off all of the dirt and debris that collects on your tires in the staging lanes. Radials run with less traction when they are hot. Try this next time and see if it helps your launchs anymore.
