Whats up everyone. My civic CAI has finally arrived, along with the additional couplers nessasary. I really want to get rid of the accordian connection from the throttle body to the MAF. There is that hose on top of the accordian connection and then there is the IAT sensor? that goes into the accordian connection from the back.

Here lies the questions. Do i have to use that hose? and if so can i drill out a hole in a coupler and stick it in there or should i use a grommet and put it into the intake tube that will go between the throttle body and the maf

Also for the IAT sensor how should i plug it in? with a grommet into the intake pipe or into a coupler?

thanks for reading, please respond with as much detail as time will allow

as soon as my AEM filter arrives i will post pics

thanks again

for the first one ive seen people just make the hole, but for the iat sensor you are going to need the grommet to make sure its air tight with no leaks......and most people put this stuff into the coupler where the old tubing was.......

holy unnecessary orange font, dude

my apoc CAI had the holes in the coupler and it had gromets to make it air tight, other then that, you just need to hook the couple to the MAF and then the rest of the piping, and yes take the orange font off, its very annoying to read and it hurts our eyes :smokin:

you do not need either one.

the tube does not need to be installed

hell, ive had that hose off for over 2 years now.

for the sensor, you can actually just let it "hang" loose down in the fenderwell.

but if you want to drill holes and buy grommets and all that crazy stuff, thats your call.

with an accord intake, there is a couple of things you can do. If you can, post a pic of the parts you have already and I'll try to explain what is the best way to finish the intake.
