I've had my Sirius radio all installed for about 6 months or so and everything works great. I only have 1 gripe, my radio is plugged into the cigarette lighter on the side of the console and the radio doesn't turn on/off with the car (neither of the outlets are switched with the ignition).

I can get one of these to hardwire it to the car: http://www.xactcommunication.com/Sirius-Sa...-and-8-106.html

How would I hook this up? Should I tap into the radio fuse on the drivers side to power the radio?

you could piggy back off a fuse, or splice into the power wire of the radio if you want

as far as the cable though

"This product will be available soon"

make sure it's not some backorder or somethin

Depending on the year, you may have an ignition lead at the radio. You could also find one at the climate controls.

I have a 2004 with the CD player (no tape deck or XM).

I'm guessing I would have to remove the radio to use the ignition lead at the radio???

Nope, there is no ignition lead at the radio. If you didn't mind it being on for like 5-minutes after you shut the car off or any other time when the class-2 bus is active, you could use the lead that goes to the antenna amplifier. Or just use an ignition lead at the climate controls since it would be the easiest place there to find one.

It really does sound like my best option is to wire that thing right into the radio fuse. Are there any problems with doing that?

I'm not very confident in messing with the car's wiring but I think it would be fairly straightforward to use the fuse.

Only problem is that the radio fuse is a constant.

I went and looked at both fuse boxes in the front doors. I think I'm going to try the sunroof fuse on the passenger side panel. I assume that one is switched. Since the car doesn't have a sunroof, if for some reason the fuse blows it won't hurt the car any.

I don't want to tap into the pcm or wipers and have that fuse blow and cause problems.
