I'm looking to put 2 12's in the trunk. I'm unsure on what brand I should get and size amp. Got any ideas on the best speakers and amp at a decent price?

Kicker Solo-Baric. I have one and it hits hard. I have seen an eclipse that had two and it sound really good. Real deep bass. Only thing you will have to get a custom box made. Don't know how much you were looking at spending.

Price ain't really a worry right now. I'm going 1/2 & 1/2 w/my momma. It's gonna be my X-mas present. Whatever works.

If money isn't a thing I would go with 2 Kicker Solo Baric 12's. You won't be disappointed

JL's are probably the best speaker IMO.

My best friend was telling me about those. What size amp should I get to push them though? Or should I get 2 amps?

LMAO...good luck not having any rattle if you wanna be heard coming down the street...especially with 2 12 inch kicker subs

i habe dynamat in my trunk but with the system i have it still rattles to poop, but not as bad as if i didnt have any at all, at least my license plate dont rattle

a little velcro, I heard, helps the plate from rattling.

personaly, I have a 10" boston acoustics sub ina band pass box and it hits harder than when i had 2 12" rockfords. if you get the right combonation its gonna sound good, my sub is ina ballanced bandpass which makes it sound like 2-3 speakers eventhough there is just one and i am only runnin 500w to it(its rated to 1000W) I to had the problem with ratteling untill i did 2 layers of dynamat and took off the vent doors near the wheel wells(behind the carpet allows you trunk to get frest air so it doesnt smell moldy ask more and ill show pics) with the setup i have now I hit 130db and my boy has 2 jl 12w6's and he only hits 140db. i must admit I had alot of help from a good friend of mine over at tweeter(my friends dad is the ceo of the company) i was able to get all i have(the 10" sub, box, amp, and cap) for $300. I am running an alpine v-series bass engine and i have a 1/2 farrad cap on it. seriously though I prefer the 10" to a 12" any day, they hit cleaner and tighter than the 12"so if your thinking 2 12" i suggest going with 2 or 3 10" trus me on this. ;)

I like JL Audio subs.

As far as what size amp… You should base it on the subs you buy. Look at the RMS ratings and get an amp that is the same or less than the subs. If the amp is rated higher than the subs, you will risk blowing them.

JL Audio is a good bet. I was going to say, if price was an issue, to get some Infinity Reference Series 1230W subs, that's what I got. I don't have them in yet but I tested them and I love them.

If you are going to get the kicker solobarics dont get the L5's they are now made in china and there quality control sucks I know many of people who are blowing voice coils left and right if you are going to do kicker only get the L7's they not only are a better speaker than the L5 but they also are made in thee US still and have a much lower failure rate
