Welcome! keep modding!

if you do go with the ventshades, pay the extra and get the ones from weathertech... they go inside the window channel and do not interrupt the flow of the car ;)
sounds like a good start, and search a lot on here... there is plenty of info by many users!! :) |
i already have the ventshades brand. i would say since last friday i've spent 8 hours on this board, most of it today(slow day at work). i work in the parts dept at a GM dealership so if anybody needs any part numbers or prices looked up, let me know. i can also print out your option list if you give me the VIN number,

Welcome.

Welcome aboard! It's easy to go crazy with these cars when you start modding. How many miles? Which motor and what was the purchase price of you don't mind me asking? It looks like a nice car so far.

Welcome to the MADNESS!!!
|
139,000 miles, 3400, $2200. I like the way it rides (for now) it pulls better than I thought it would. I've only put about 150 miles on it and already had it just over 100 mph. It's got a wheel bearing noise or a square tire or something. ADDICTIVE?!? I skipped lunch today so I could keep searching ALEROmod, hell right now I'm fighting sleep really bad just so I can keep reading the board!

seeing Oldsnut's signature reminds me, the " last 500 " emblems are still available thru vintageparts.com. I searched the GM parts catalogs for OSV body parts but couldn't find anything.

Welcome to the forum...nice car and your truck sounds nice as well my f-250 may be getting replaced with a 7.3 this weekend
|
Hearing those Badges are available is awesome.
osv is long gone. There is a company that had a replica kit for sale... but its like a 1200$ price tag. And they are far from perfect.... right when you receive them you would have to get all parts fixed for correct fitment. And yes the 3400 is very spunky stock. With a few mods it feels much better for a 3400. |
welcome

Welcome to the site! Keep the mods coming!

so i hear a brake noise on the way home from work and finally have to pull "Alexus" into dad's garage(mine is full of racecars i should be working on). she's gonna need front and rear pads and rear rotors, i'm just gonna turn the fronts. i also found what i thought was a wheel bearing is the fact that both rear tires are just about square. i then changed the plugs(AC Platinum), dropped in a K&N, started making a new intake duct, pulled the throttle body and egr valve for cleaning(see pics). i figured while the throttle body is off, i'm going to put a lower temp thermostat and for now, instead of buying the Milzy modified heater tube i'm just going to loop a hose and bypass it.that's it for tonight.
this is how gummed up your throttle body gets. if you can't do it yourself, you need to take it to somebody that can! i know my pictures suck. sorry:( |
Much better looking tb.
|
Thats just looking at it from both sides. i can get an after pic when i get off work at 12. i've got just about a truckload of parts to throw at her this afternoon.

Welcome to the forum! I see you're from VA... not many people here are from the east coast. I'm in DC myself.

It's good to see someone that works at a GM garage that won't fall out when you tell them that you can put a turbo kit (or any type of performance mod) on the 3400 Alero.
Welcome aboard. (just getting around to saying this cause I've been away from the boards a lil while...) |
