Lateral Link
The rear (back) lateral link bars were both bent on my 2001 Alero, I replaced both, the front ones look ok. The rear tires both wore out on the insides. Do I need a "rear wheel" alignment now?

couldnt hurt :)
And if you do, get everythin aligned |
go to a place that does lifetime alignments (if you plan on keeping the car for long). it will be expensive for the first one, but all the rest of them (for the time that you have the car) are free,

The car had it's annual NY State inspection in December, it needed front tie rod ends and they aligned the front end, apparently they never bothered to check the rear.

then dont go there any more. You cant have a good alignment if the rear isnt considered.
But to be honest, the rear of our cars can only by adjusted if the proper screws are used. Like these RAYBESTOS Part # 6161046 |
My local shop said the rear is fixed and not adjustable for alignment... front only.

When I replaced the rear lateral link bars, I noticed where the bar connects to the rear end center (not the wheel) there is room for adjustment, which would effect how the tires sit.
