car was going faster with cruise on!
took cruise off and it dropped to first gear
got home parked it and it wouldn't start battery is full, cranks but no start
got the spare key and it started but no lights, no guage lights, car wouldn't leave first gear, fual and tmep gauges going up and down again!

what could it be

Check for corrosion around the battery terminals especially the body grounds and around the alt...
that'd be my first checks

sounds like an alternator

Probably a ground issue. Check your main battery ground and any other harness ground points. Could also be a bad alternator too especially if the rectifier bridge went bad and is allowing the alternator to output AC voltage to the battery.

I thought alt as well but with the battery bring full charge through me off the alt....

The gauges not working and no dash lights made me think Alt because if the car was runing, it was running off battery only

The cars electrical would work without the alternator when running until the battery went dead or got too low for them to work. The alternator man twins th battery so it can power everything. With the battery having a full charge it's probably not the alternator. How did you test the battery? It could even be a computer module issue

Alt OR Battery OR both! When these toast an alt, a lot of the time it damages the battery as well. Get the Alt and Battery tested, after checking all connections to and from battery and alt of course!
