need a solid v rated tire for handling

I have a soft comfort tire now and hated it from the day i put them on goodyear intergritys. I didnt do research on tires and ratings and handling. My concern is cornering and handling. From what I have read speed rating plays a big role in that. so I was looking for some v rated tires. I found a kuhmo platinum and a goodyear eagle gt that are v rated. is that pretty much the gist of it for handling get a hard sidewall? anything else to consider or know of a tire that worked great for your alero?

I can't remember who used them but i know eagle gt's have been mentioned on here before...and yes, if you've got a more durable sidewall your tire won't roll as much while cornering...

I'm very happy with my GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. I tihnk they're Y-speed rated.

yeah i think because i have stock rims it really lowers my options

eagle GT's for sure. they were my last pair of tires i had on my stock rims and i absolutely loved them.

Man, when did you get those?!

Are they that much better than the D3s?

My car has Eagle GTs on stock rims and I love them, they are great in the snow and I hardly ever hydroplane...

Honestly, I haven't put enough miles on them to form a complete opinion as compared to the GS-D3, but the few miles I have on them has them on par with the GS-D3, with the advantage of not being directional, so I can rotate them properly.

if these were your only choices and its strictly for performance like cornering and steering response which out of these?

Yea I have some Goodyear eagle f1's a/s but they're z rated. I think... Anyway they've been awesome for the past couple years. Thinking about getting some michellins tho

i have kumho ecsta asx's on the alero and they have served me well. challenger has goodyear eagle f1 supercar tires and they are alright, don't last long though. the fronts need to be replaced already and the car only has 12,700 miles on it.
