ok, these are really really crappy camera phone quality videos i know, but hey, they're download friendly!

the first one is me burning out, or trying to. my new kumho's really grip, and the rear of the car just drags with the e-brake locked, in the far lane however i burnout quite well (no video yet)

Alero Burnout Attempt

ok, here's me racing against someone, i cant remember what kind of car it is, and it's hard to tell from the quality of the video, maybe a crx or something. oh and the fart can exhaust ISNT mine, i can tell because i dont hit 3rd in the 1/8th mile :)

Alero vs. CRX

and the last one is me against my buddies MazdaSPEED Protege, CAI, super dooper stage three turbo or something..... he runs about a second faster than me, but i didnt do too bad. at least i beat him out of the brackets last night, and he's #2 in points :P

post comments or your own videos!

Nice burnout. I have a hard time doing one. My e-brake won't hold the wheels, it just keeps rolling.

The other 2 links no workie

FormulaNERD 05-29-2004 11:14 PM

you try and right click and do a save target as? i just clicked them... worked fine over here. hmmmmm

and that burnout sucks man, seriously. i'll have a good video soon, last night i burned out so much the inside of the car filled with smoke from the vents (no a/c on or anything)

my rear brake pads are really worn, most of the time i roll forward too, but when they lock, and the front doesnt pull the whole car forward, it's pretty sweet.

Pimpalero03 05-30-2004 01:36 AM

ive only done like two e brake burn outs in my car but both times my car didnt even move, the tires just roasted untill i released e brake

FormulaNERD 05-30-2004 01:39 AM

yea, well back home i was rally driving alot, and now my ebrake only works with it alllll the way up at the last click, and if its in drive sometimes the ebrake wont even keep it from idling forward. i need to adjust it, or get new pads, im just waiting cause i'm gonna get new raybestos pads and crossdrilled rotors

I need to get the video up of my burnout / donuts. I completely melted the front tires that night and filled a Wal Mart parking lot up with smoke.

Donuts in an Alero? Oh yes, it can be done. Just take a visit to McDonalds with a friend, you both order something and you take the 2 trays you get....

Put those under the rear tires and set the e-brake. And have at it.

Or, you go in rain or snow and do them BACKWARDS!! now that is fun.

Youngblood77 06-03-2004 08:52 PM

AMD, that's hysterical man ! I've done reverse doughnuts in a friend's escort ( in the wintertime ) :P , but I've never heard of that food tray trick before ... lmao

Just curious, what motor/trans do you have?

Sportalero 06-04-2004 04:57 PM

Question about your run against the Mazda. Was it really necessary to remove both headlights? I would understand on the intake side, but wouldn't that cause air to get caught under your hood and create drag? I just didn't think a minor modded car created that much heat.

Redog 06-04-2004 05:59 PM

Saw the other 2 videos. Nice

I have some videos but with a regulaer camcorder. Does anybody know how to put them on the net?

b-spot 06-04-2004 06:30 PM

Have fun with the nice new flatspots on your rear tires! lol

Oh yeah.. reverse donuts rule.

Youngblood77 06-04-2004 09:35 PM

It's hard to tell SportAlero, but I think he mighta' had headlight covers on for that run..........

i had a radiator leak, and i sealed it up, and my car was running too hot, i guess because i used bars leaks and alumi seal.

i have the stock airbox tubing modified a little, so yea, one headlight would have been good, but on 1/8th mile track wind drag really isnt a factor, and the air kept my engine cool enough to run, everythings fixed now, and i dont take any headlights out.
