go with the paint....that pic looks like they just photoshopped out the taillights

meadus101 12-23-2007 12:35 AM

Looks like the seller painted the tail in MSpaint.

YALEROYNOT 12-23-2007 12:36 AM

thats what i want, easier to remove. im not a big fan of painting thing ( interor trim, lights, etc)

i hope it is not that dark tho.

joserivas19 12-23-2007 12:38 AM

yeah thats what i thought too. just wasnt sure if it was cheaper. do any of you have the link on "how to" paint the tail lights? thanks.

Gr1m 12-23-2007 12:46 AM

these are pictures of my car with that cling stuff, it really doesnt matter what you do but i would use the tint instead of the paint, because if you ever get a ticket or whatnot for it, you can easily remove the tint, rather then spending $150 on new rear tails.

joserivas19 12-23-2007 12:54 AM

Gr1m, where did you purchase these tint covers? they are exactly what i want for mine. were they expensive?

$125 wow :rolleyes2: seams high to me
its like $10 a roll ;).

wonder if it will come off ? it might not cause the plastic

joserivas19 12-24-2007 01:34 PM

yeah, it does seem pricy. will regular window tint work just as good? that isnt too hard to take off is it?

pimpalero2003 12-24-2007 01:43 PM

all you should need is tint get a roll so you can try a couple times. and a heat gun. take tails out clean very very well take a heat gun and warm the tint up. pull the clear pasic off. warm it up again now spray soapy water on the tail and lay the sheet of tint on the tail get a squgey and spread it out get all the water out and bubbles now trim you excess off....
also first step is cutting it close to the corrct size..

bnight04 12-24-2007 04:35 PM

I want to do that but I painted my tails. I dont like it now so I have to wet sand it. will it still look good if I wet sand and then lay the tint over?

pimpalero2003 12-24-2007 04:44 PM

wetsand should be fine since your throwing someover it

joserivas19 12-24-2007 09:46 PM

pimpalero, so any tint will do? will walmart tint work just fine? thanks for the mini how to, really appreciate it.
