New to Alero Mod

Hi! I'm from Michigan and I bought a red 2001 2dr Alero with a 3.4L V6 back in November of 2001. I've only done minor mods to it thus far, but hope to do many more. So far, I've replaced the stock stereo with a Jenson DVD Player touch screen. I replaced the 6x9s in the back with Pioneer Blue Series 300w 4-ways. I added two 12" subs with an 800w amp to my trunk. I've changed the headlight bulbs to 5000k xenon HID-like bulbs (want REAL kit, hope soon) , I've added doorsill badges that I think look cool. This weekend I plan to clear my corners. I also plan to get a kit, and I'm looking at some custom designs for paint at my local custom shop. I'm still in high school, and am looking to find ways to mod my car with my part-time paycheck, anyhow- I just wanted to introduce myself. :p Here's some pics of the car thus far:

the seat covers and the 3rd brake light cover are horrible. Otherwise it is a good start.

I see a lot of people say get rid of the pinstriping and believe me, I hate that pinstripe! it was on it when I bought it, and I never liked it, when it gets warmer, I'll be getting rid of it, but for now, I have to bear with it, and thanks for all the support!

to get the badges off use a hairdryer. youre not going to eff up the paint like some seem to think.. its the same way you get dealership stickers off. ive done it to my alero and my gparents lincoln. just gently move the hair dryer side to side slowly and it will heat up the glue and come right off with a pull. then use goo gone to get rid of sticky remains and in the summer wax your car(will get rid of slight fade of paint)

quote from me awhile ago. same goes for pin stripe.. just incase you were wondering :)

Drum major isn't drums.... It's the dude in front of the marching band that "keeps us together:p." ;)

I played percussion in band. lol Welcome to the site!

Thanks for knowing your stuff :p thanks for the welcome

adam337 02-19-2008 09:06 PM

well.. whatever the eff that is. i live in north dakota. you probably have more kids in the band than my school has kids. its about 500 kidnergarden-senior high

Onewing91 02-19-2008 09:10 PM

wow, small area, but its all cool man, I get the drum comment all the time, I just let it slide, because I wish I could play drums, so I just roll with it. 'sides, the whole point is the car:p

cherrington17 02-19-2008 09:24 PM

hey, if your proud of the drum major... then keep the 3rd brake light. it makes your car unique.

but like everyone else said, corners and pin stripe.

good luck on the board, if you can't find it in the how tos, feel free to ask, and if its a totally new novel idea, take pics of the project as your doing it and add it to our how to forum....
