calpier paint options

ok so my alero is white, I have the black side mirrors and the headlight bezel painted black. Im going with and all black white deal on the exterior and everything red LED's on the interior and will someday get red racing seats and other basic stuff. just got all 4 drilled and slotted zinc plated rotors in and will be doing the drum to disk conversion on the rear next week, as well a painting my rims black (ya i know, iv read all about it, going to leave the outside lip and olds symbol silver) but i cant decide on red or silver painted calipers. the silver will blend in more im thinking and the red will pop and tie in the interior so im leaning more towards it. however I would like opinions from everyone on which color to go with. input is greatly appreciated.

go red. ive got a white alero, with black rims and such, and have neon green calipers to match my green led interior.

x2 on red, if you want to paint the calipers... might as well make them stand out. ;)

Mine are blue, (black and blue theme)

^i was thinking so myself but thanks for the input. Will post pics on this thread when I get it done... Might be a few weeks though, been working a lot recently.

go gloss black

For the calipers or rims?... I'm set on the red for calipers now and ya, for the rims probably a satin black. I don't like the flat black at all.

X2 on the gloss black....did that on mine when i upgraded the brakes and it looked slick...not showy but definitely different

excatly , how many times do you see a car with flashey colors on the calipers,
now how many times do you see a car with gloss black calipers?
be different

jawa 07-29-2011 02:11 AM

mine are getting gloss black as soon as im motivated enough to do it

spc2125 07-29-2011 02:18 AM

curious what gloss black would look like

sleepyalero 07-29-2011 02:58 AM

IMO i like seeing my calipers stick out from the rest of the car. gives the car a better look i think.

I found this Thread and I am really only looking for some advise on what color I should paint my calipers. My car color is well baby blue.

Papa Rad17 04-21-2013 11:15 AM

Really just depends. If your really wanting to make them pop go red or yellow. If your wanting something a bit more conservative id go with black, maybe silver.

I would go for black or silver to go with baby blue.

However, if you can find it ... a baby blue high heat paint would also be nice, to match the body color. Or if you're going to get it repainted some other hue, pick a generic blue and have the body shop match the body to the calipers.

Red or yellow would stand out, ayep. To my mind, they would be garish, however, It Ain't My Car :p Pick the color YOU like, and tell everyone else exactly where they can stick it :coolio:

Thanks for the advise. I think i'm going to go with black since I have such dark windows.

I plan on doing mine blue on my silver alero.

tw0123 04-22-2013 12:23 AM

mine are black on both cars... the black coupe had yellow fronts, and silver rear, as the fronts needed to be replaced when I got the car...

Babyblue 04-22-2013 07:23 AM

Should I go with a flat black or a normal black?
