Not a fan....looks sloppy and then you just have a useless switch up on the headliner. Easier to reach? Dude the switch is not even an arms length away:lol:

actually the switch on the headliner has been removed and the hole filled , and i put it there because all the other glass controls are right there so why not have the sunroof there
so much for doing something different, its only cool if its a 5 speed swap or boosted or something like that, ugh

03glgold 03-14-2012 12:10 AM

if you finished out the trim piece it wouldn't be bad but the way it is now looks bad with all the black around the piece...it just looks incomplete

jawa 03-14-2012 12:12 AM

yea its been finished out when the pic was taken it was a test fitting

03glgold 03-14-2012 12:14 AM

then it could look better now...you did remove the labeling for the air vent close and open thing as well because that would also help it look cleaner

jawa 03-14-2012 12:16 AM

yea its been smoothed over, dremels are the best

Nah....i'm just giving you my honest opinion. If you like it that's all that matters...i just like everything looking nice and smooth (like its supposed to be there). I also like the function of all my vents (granted that side vent doesn't do much).

my old alero didnt have a sunroof but instead it had a pocket for sunglasses or something where the sunroof slwitch is located. If u delete the switch is there enough "meat" to the headliner infront have the sunrood to install the cubby/pocket?

jawa 03-14-2012 12:46 AM

ive looked into doing that cubby thing but the sunroof equiped cars headliner hung lower twards the front where it would go, still trying to figure somthing for that area,

maybe one off a different car would work,
im going to the yard tommorow, so ill look around, and picking up a set of saturn ion redline recaro front seats for 75 bux

you and your magic junk yard

jawa 03-14-2012 10:22 AM

ive grown to love junk yards lmfao

03glgold 03-14-2012 10:24 AM

any junkyards around here that have anything won't let you go in and look because it is a liability issue

Shiwnath 03-14-2012 10:36 AM

Cant say I like.. Looks more of a backyard mechanic job than something done properly... The original sunroof switch location was perfectly fine as is.

Its cool to want to do something different and custom, but when it's something thats well designed and placed properly like a sunroof switch, I cant say its necessary at also to "mod" it. With stuff like that, if it aint broke, then dont fix it.

yea there is some yards like that around here too, but those ones dont get hardly any business, where as the you pull it yards are doing quite well/

Hellfire5670 03-14-2012 11:12 AM

I thought this was neat do you have a picture of how it looks after you touched it up?

jawa 03-14-2012 11:50 AM

ill get one up later today

kwhauck 03-14-2012 12:48 PM

If you wanted to mod it that's fine, but don't get upset by people's honest opinons and think they are "hatin" on you.

I personally wouldn't have posted a pic until the finished product was in and done.
