At the request of another member here at A-Mod I spoke to my contact at Cerious Performance about getting carbon fiber parts done for your Aleros. Any part you guys would like to see is possible but to make the project worthwhile they would need 5-10 committed buyers. They can do hoods, fenders, trunks, interior parts, etc. etc. as long as there is enough interest.

I've already sent them my wishlist of parts I want to see them make, so post up in here if a number of you are interested in getting any parts for your car made in CF. You can check out my car in the Showcase section if you would like to see the hood that they currently produce for my GA.

Let me know, as their soonest molding shipment will be in about a month.

We've talked, you know how I feel. I will wait to see if there is a enough interest with the rest of the members

jabartram 08-26-2005 05:46 PM

Its all about the money.

bigmikerlo 08-26-2005 09:19 PM

everybody wants everything for nothing....600 for a CF hood isn't bad at all IMO...especially for a "dead" car...

Silentalero 08-27-2005 09:16 AM

/\ yea seriously, thats why nobody gets anything made for our cars. Everybody wants the best for $200. Maybe once i get the osv kit finished i can offer a c/f version. I'll have to talk to ya more about that sik.

SikMindz 08-27-2005 07:32 PM

NP Marc. Anyways, right now for the GA's, the CF SC/T hood that I have is $699 + S&H but could be brought down to ~$600 with 5 or so buyers (less if there are more). This is seriously some quality stuff. My hood uses the stock latches, lined up perfectly and weighs in at 23 lbs. Not much more you could ask for IMO.

slowandlow 08-27-2005 08:04 PM

i will say cf fenders and trunk and wing and miors housing maybe we can have some vents in the fenders behind the wheels

i'd enjoy an OEM style carbon fiber hood, but some sort of aftermarket looking fenders would be nice too, just not Z3.

also for the hood, is this gonan be available for the 99's? or older models? cause the ones after 99 use hood props.

also as for the trunk, is it possible to leave the trunk tail lights out, for the shaved trunk look.......if not its cool.

probably would be cheaper doing a shaved trunk, so its one piece instead of two.

To answer all your questions at once, yes all of the above can be done. It's just a matter of if you guys really want the parts and can pony up and front the cash. I don't know if they're going to have preorders or what, but I'd expect at least some type of refundable deposit to ensure things on their end.

'Cause so far, everyone's come up with some great ideas but none of them are that focused.

SikMindz 08-31-2005 05:25 PM

Here's the deal ya'll:

5-10 people would be required, if you could have them put down a $100 refundable deposit that would speed up the process, for a large part like a hood. 20% down of the retail value on any other parts. The smaller parts, well if we could locate the parts quickly, we can begin molding right away, and if we get the deposits we can get more hoods ready before Jan/Feb hopefully.

So- figure out a hood design you want, get me some pics and PM me if you are SERIOUSLY interested and have money to deposit.

UnoWHO 09-01-2005 03:18 PM

I am interested ina boser hood, theres already a topic somewhere on here with pics, its nothing to flashy but gives the car a nice look, you could probablly work in a scoop or something. I think there were a few people interested in the other topic so we will see, but if its 100$ deposit Ill do it...as long as I can pay like 100 every 2 weeks(thats when i get paid)..

johny_boy32 09-01-2005 03:38 PM

$100 deposit sounds great but what would the total for the hood be? I'll see if I can't get some pictures of the hoods I would like up in the next couple of hours.

johny_boy32 09-01-2005 03:53 PM

Here are some ideas, I'm loving the Evo style hood, I don't know about everyone else but I would kill for a hood like that.

johny_boy32 09-01-2005 04:01 PM

or these...
