why does everyone hate the stock radio??????

Even so, mounting it on the bottom is a lot of work for nothing.

Because the numers/letters on the buttons fall off and it doesn't read mp3s. Other than those I liked it.

My stock CD player was garbage by the time I replaced it. Could barely read a CD.. I also damaged the face a bit when it spit the same CD out like 20 times.

i agree with thier reasons but it sucks i cant do it different from everyone else a little

I tried modifying an installation kit to mount it up-side-down, total pain and I gave up. I wanted to mount the deck on the bottom and have the pocket on the top solid so I could mount a portable XM radio there. Long story short, I got a head unit that had XM "built in" and mounted it on the top with the pocket on the bottom.

most new headunit let you control your IPOD from the head unit and allow you to hook up your IPOD to a cord that can be put in your glove box

using a stock radio is like shooting somebody with a .22, sure it'll get the job done but it's not gonna put them on their ass like a .45

or

filling the radio hole with a stock radio is like fingering a girl, either way you're going to be left unsatisfied

Alpine FTW

I like mine, when it works. If I could buy a new OEM one that actually did have a working CD player in it that I think would last, I would. Sadly, I suspect that they are all chronically defective.

Exactly what I just said, the stock ones don't work for long.

I got my car from my mom...who NEVER even used the CD player and didn't know that it didn't work when she gave me the car.
