I would have voted for number53alero, but I can't condone parking a final 500 on the street like that with snow on the ground.

aleros_eat_rice 12-24-2014 12:30 AM

I didn't have any snow for my shot, just frost on the roof and windshield.

You do what you gotta do when you don't have storage in the colder climates.

I agree with both of you. I kinda wish I had enough room in the garage for both the Alero and the Delta.

Right now, the alero has 17 inches in front of it and 34 inches behind it. The car is roughly 16 feet long, which means my garage is 20'4" long. The Delta is about 20 feet long. Talk about tight

Plus with the car smelling like gas fumes, and the garage is right next to the gas water heater and gas forced hot air HVAC unit, ummm, yeah, probably not a good idea.

IMHO, Sliver SLP nailed it. Snow and Christmas stuff

Thank you! This was taken in our local park.

I dont care about the being out in the snow, the thing I dont like is parked on the street with all that snow. It is the risk of being hit by someone going too fast and sliding into it, or the plow not seeing it and hitting it.

number53alero 12-25-2014 08:30 AM

It's all I have, I don't have a driveway/garage and honestly the car is better in my hands on the street than in some idiots hands that doesn't even know what it is. Trust me I've ran into at least 4 F500 owners that never knew what they were driving! I took the seats out to protect them awhile ago, that and the floor mats. I'll get a new house with a garage in a few years, it's in the plans. My wife even agrees that once that happens the Alero will be a garage queen, she's awesome!

03glgold 12-26-2014 12:51 AM

I remember posts about your care stuff. I also agree that it could be in worse hands. As much as I want a final 500, even though I have found some fairly close for sale, I won't buy one yet because it would have to be my daily and would rack up a lot of miles with a decent amount being harder miles. I will wait until it can be a toy car. I know you hold it to a higher value than most people and do what you can, but I still cringe at the thought of what could happen with it parked there.

number53alero 12-26-2014 09:03 AM

yeah I bought it fresh literally off of the showroom floor back in October 2004 from a dealer in Dayton, OH by Wright-patt AFB. I knew what it was, I bought it for that and since it had all the options a young 21 yr old ever wanted. I knew one day that I would get a garage and restore it. I never bought it for other people and if you mod cars for other people you are doing it for the wrong reasons. It'll never be worth the same as Oldsnuts one for example but all that matters is that I enjoy it. That's the reason I bagged a Cutlass Ciera way back in 2002. I did it for myself and to be unique.

01OhioAlero 12-26-2014 08:51 PM

Good points pretty sure thats why we all mod aleros, we could just get a camaro or mustang and yeah its faster but its not unique. People always think its cool that I mod a alero its pretty funny to most guys to. When I had my struts done at the dealer the tech noticed my top end rebuilt and complimented me about it.
