Heres my slip from a while ago:

I have:
3400 SFI
Dr. Speed Cold Air Intake
MSD 8 MM spark plug wires
Custom Exhaust with a Vortec Muffler system
Here is a picture of my custom exhaust:

This is my best run, I had times ranging from 15.7 to this 15.3 ... I did alot of adjusting and actually ran this in Drive. Launched at 1500 RPMS I believe I am not positive. Burned out in the Burnout pit also, using my ebrake. I red Redogs post and it says to use 3rd I will have to try that next time.

It's nothing to write home about, but it'll do for #2 on the NA 3400 list.....just wait until I get the cam in.:D

Damn, the date and time didn't make it....done today (8/19/2006) at 11:00AM. Warm and humid (pea soup) conditions.
And FWIW, I hit a new PB in MPH on a later run....15.172 @ 90.06.

Here's 2 of my slips from BPO. Hopefully you can read the first one which was the elimination round with Jackyll. It printed out lighter than the next run's slip.

I was heavy on the brakes in that 1st round and scrubbed off a bit of mph and ET. I also tapped the brakes in the next round, too, but didn't take off nearly quite as much. So judging by the incrementals between the 2, had I run flat out against Jackyll it probably would have resulted in a 15.952 run.

Still, the 15.956 should make the N/A 3400 TOP 10 list. And with all of the extra crap in the car weighing it down and me just leaving the car in 3rd and letting it shift on its own it wasn't a bad run. I probably could have dropped the ET down into the 15.7's or 15.8's had I removed all of the excess weight (CD's, magazines, beach folding chair, etc.) and manually shifted her.

In the end, though, not bad for a 100% bone-stock car with over 65,000 miles on her and a ton of crap in the back seat and trunk. :coolio:

Vinalero 02-17-2009 02:30 AM

Good god, I gotta learn how to lauch that car...

Best 1/4 is 15.812 at 87.105 MPH

Best Mph is 15.909 at 89.511 MPH

Damn I have same trap speed as some doing low 15... What am i Doing wrong?

For the slip, I'll do that later, They are really pale though, I wonder if a picture will show them ok.

[ion] C2 02-17-2009 10:38 AM

what were your 60' times?

Vinalero 02-17-2009 05:01 PM

for both those 2 runs, my 60s were :

15.812 at 87.105 mph - 60 feet : 2.375 (also my best 60' ever with the car) I think thats also the one where I hit the rev limiter in 3rd speed 50 feet before the line

15.909 at 89.511 mph - 60 feet : 2.593

BlackJack 02-18-2009 10:42 AM

thanks for the post-up on times C2.

do I get a special category to myself for 5-cylinder? LOL

Looks like quite a few people with some good times up there, guess I better get busy and quit talking smack eh? Good job to the rest of you that put in all your time, effort (and money) into making your Alero's above average :)

Don't change the above times for it, but if anyone's interested, NHRA translates at 3,000 ft altitude: 14.54 @ 96.9 becomes 14.34 @ 98.2mph at sea level.

[ion] C2 02-18-2009 10:56 AM

the above times are allowed to be NHRA corrected, I can change it... :) because that makes the times on an even plane for all.

i'm hoping to pump out a good time march 4th. or sooner if i can find a track open somewhere else. gotta get that MP62 manifold done so i can be sure it'll be good.

you guys should see my air filter (i'll post a picture when i get the new one on). i took it off at Speed Industry and showed it to Jan, he's like no wonder you made 165whp lol. the thing is clogged to hell, looks horrible (same one on for 2.5 years, in a CAI location). my hands were blackedned barely handling it. when i drove with the intake piping disconnected my engine/supercharger were a LOT louder. it's definitely restricting..

BlackJack 02-21-2009 07:06 AM

yeah, but that's why I told C2 not to bother changing my time. It's what I ran, it's what's on my video/timeslip, regardless of altitude (or how many cylinders).

But ya know, I really have no control over where I live being in the military, and if I'm stuck at a high-altitude location where I know the oxygen distribution isn't exactly equal, it's nice to know big organizations like that recognize that it is a true and real handicap.

Hopefully when I return, I can spend a little time at Fort Hood closer to sea-level and see what it will do then.

Hey, Ive got a great idea !!

Lets take a sample time of 14.8, divide that by 6 cylinders = 2.4 seconds per cylinder
Now since I only ran on 5 cylinders, 2.4(sec/cyl) * 5(cyl) = 12.3 seconds.....DAMN i'm fast !! ROFLMAO
