Remote Start
I decided to give myself an early christmas present and get a remote starter system on the alero. I made the appt to get it done this tuesday they are charging me 260 installed lifetime warranty its a python system with keyless entry and trunk pop. Is this a good deal ? I didn't really shop around. I went to this shop because I know the guy and hes right next door to where I work. He supposedly gave me a 20 dollar discount lol

umm do u mean viper?

You should hold off and buy something like a Viper 5901/5902. That way you have an alarm system too and just not a remote start...

Yeah I prepaid but I might upgrade I want one with smartstart capable so I can start my car with my Iphone

viper = python
x2 on the 5901. I just got my 5601 in august and I love it. The 5901 is waaaay better though..I just didnt have the money at the time and I needed one for winter. That smart start crap is a monthly subscription. I dunno if its worth it. Edit: Nevermind what I said about smart start monthly subscriptions. I think it used to be like that, but they changed it up since I looked up on it. Its an Annual subscription. Something like $30 a year or something? Thats actually not bad. |

Believe me, I'd kick myslef in the a$$ if I could I talked myself out of the alarm function and went with just a viper remote start system for the sake of being cheap and now since I put nearly 2k into my stereo system, I really really need an alarm... :banghead: I'm just now dreading ripping out the old one and put in a new one, I soidered everything in. The smartstart system you really don't need.. The viper two way remote on the 5901/5902 works 1/2 a mile away from your vehicle. Look on ebay for Viper 5901, you can pick one up for around 250-300 |
