Whats wrong now ??????????? :(
So im driving along today and the parking bake light comes on. Im like wtf. So i check the P Brake and it is not engaged. I turn off the car, turn it back on and all is good. 10mins later back on. I checked my brake fluid and its good. What can this problem be????

Does the ABS light come on as well? I think your pads are gone!
|
my brake light used to come on. but so were my abs, trac off, and svs light for a wheel bearing. replaced said wheel bearing, light hasn't come on since
|
hmmm. maybe metering valve or pressure differential valve...
does the car stop the same? |
ya the car stops the same. i know i need to replace the bearings, i just have not gotten around to it becasue of the holidays. but today i have to drive back home 6 hrs i just hope its safe to do so.

well, if it stops the same....take it SLOW... and keep checking your brakes... |
double check the fluid. mine did that for about a week, and it was the brake fluid. it was just barely below the full line so when i took sharp turns, or when it was really cold it was enough to set off the sensor.
|
Some ppl had to change the actual sensor in the brake fluid tank. Maybe it is shot.
|
Alright. Thanks for all the input. :D

like i said, mine was just coming on while driving around, new brake shoes, full of fluid. i let my wheel bearing go for about 3 months, and it just started coming on in the last week or two. When i changed the bearing, it hasn't come on since.

sounds like you need to bleed the brakes
|
Sorry for bringing this thread back to life but my issue had gone away, but has now returned. New pads and rotors front and back, new bearings. light comes on almost instantly when i start the car.

How do I bleed the brakes? I have never done this before. |
One time my brake light came on. I needed a little bit of brake fluid in my master cylinder. I topped it off and I was good to go. Bleeding the brakes isn't a bad idea however, I chose not to do that lol.
